this is pretty great. i never got to see him. got introduced to him (like i imagine most of my peers who weren't deep into the blues game) via the record he did w/ Jon Spencer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLF-f4kUtAw&ab_channel=muzizlife Same. I love the live album he made on the back of that s...

Re: The Neverending Thread for Political Shit

With freedom comes responsibility. Individuals take responsibility for actions.

But so should companies. If you're going to sell someone something that - over time - can harm them, you have a responsibility to let them know.

I doubt anyone can disagree with that?

Donald Trump was probably more right about China than about anything else he turned his attention to during his presidency. But in the end it didn't matter. We will be stuck with the results of his bumbling, incoherent, corrupt and inept attempts at diplomacy for a long time. https://www.nytimes.co...

You very well may be right. Even though statistically they are far more likely to die in a car crash or of something related to obesity. But cars and fat assing food aren’t going anywhere. Calm with Horses Irish gangster movie. Beautifully written and really sensitive performances. Really recommend this one. It's on Netflix (presumably worldwide). Edit: Understand that in the states this has been released as "The Shadow of Violence". https://loudandclearreviews.com/wp-content/uploads...

Much better than the original cut. Still has some major issues but worth the time if you are a fan of the first 2 Godfather films. I always thought III was underrated. It isn't 1 or II but it's still much better than the bulk of gangster movies. And it has some of the best dialogue of the trilogy.

Re: Where will first DBT show be when things open again?

Barring some kind of miraculous speed up of vaccination in Europe, those first shows back definitely won't be over here. Full capacity shows here aren't allowed until 21 June (at the earliest), though socially distanced gigs can happen before. I'd certainly hope all of the DBT shows have sold too w...

Are there not military who don’t want to be there and can’t wait to get to the end? I imagine there are plenty of people who join because they dont see much other option. I'm genuinely now hopeful that we (we as in the western, first world - shit terms but off hand I cant think of others) are going to be mostly out of this before the end of the year. Re: Where will first DBT show be when things open again?

Going by the UK government's latest announcements (well, their guesses...) there looks to be a good chance that the shows DBT have scheduled for the UK in late May/June are going to be amongst the first in the UK after live indoor shows are allowed once again. So, for me it'll hopefully be Leeds on...

Wasn't a massive shock to learn that the Springsteen situation was bullshit. I'm a slightly younger generation. First concert sized rock show I ever went to was in about 1993 ("other band" tour) when I was about 13 (thanks dad) and it was the Boss. Held every rock and roll show against that standard...

Re: The Neverending Thread for Political Shit

In a long way, I'm saying the Republican party is an a massive pickle. They can't win without the extra numbers from the Trump-and-only-Trump voters, but as long as Trumpist ideas are out in the open, there's a sizeable portion of their former base that's going to vote for a Democrat president, or ...

The quick answer is that a lot of strong down ballot Republican performance was a result of the Trump base turning out and voting for all R's + lots of traditional R's not voting for Trump in certain places. I've mockingly called it the "Darrell Vote", but I think the reason places like my home sta...
