Re: Artist of the Week: 8.2.2010 - Phish
If y'all aren't whispering sweet nothings in John Moreland's ear while giving him a sponge bath, there is a free webcast of tonight's Dayton show at about 7:30 pm ET. I was on the floor at Northerly Island on Sunday and they played with more intensity than I have seen from them in a decade. http://...

Re: The Neverending Thread for Political Shit
The twists and turns in DC re healthcare and other ongoing legislative issues are intellectually interesting but really doesn't it all come down to horrible leadership? I never, ever would have guessed that Mitch McConnell could fuck up so badly and even now a part of me says that he must have some...

Re: MLB 2017
You know I'm not a "hot take" sort of guy when it comes to Cubs baseball. (At least I think you believe that I am not) I'm not ready to give up on Schwarber offensively for a life time, just because the guy is hitting .177. That said, even when I had expected a better average from him my thought pr...

Jose Quintana pitches a gem in his Cubs debut and leads his team to an sweep of the Orioles. Maybe this ship can be righted after all. 25 runs in 3 games and not dominated by the long ball. It was fun to watch Quintana pitch that efficiently and as fan its nice to watch a pitcher who works quickly....

Re: No Cell Phone Policies At Shows
Talking at shows has always seemed like a way bigger issue than phones to me. Still the heavyweight champ of concert issues, closely followed by people who wear the shirt of the band they are seeing that night ;) don't really understand this one... never have. To me it is like wearing a team jersey...

Re: No Cell Phone Policies At Shows
The many being punished for the bad behavior of the few has been going on for a LONG time. That's true but it doesn't mean I have to agree with it. I feel that its at the artist's discretion to help create an environment in their performance that they see fit. They will either reap the benefits of ...

Throwing out less than 25% of runners attempting steals with 10 throwing errors as a back up catcher is bad enough. Calling out a former Cy Young pitcher who you are assigned to personally catch for, is a death sentence. Fuck 'em.

Re: No Cell Phone Policies At Shows
I'm good with it. Sure, I have taken pictures with the wife or friends in the crowd, but when the music starts I'm about only three things. Dancing, drinking, and enjoying the music. That's going to a show! As a society we are too plugged in to the world. Even currently right now as I am typing. Whe...

I understand that he is playing really big theaters now, but if I had to bet on whether he has outgrown those or not in three years, I would say that he has outgrown those venues if he wants to. And good for him. He plays (and fills) a bigger venue literally every time he comes through Philly. He's...

Hey Cubfan: as to your Assembly Hall Wolfman's, I am in total agreement. Hard pressed to find any bad versions of that tune in 97. Saw them in V.B., Raleigh, Hotlanta, and the Great Went that summer as well as Philly, Penn State, and MSG New Years Run. Yeah, I saw them a lot that year. I was still ...

The relative lack of enthusiasm for the Isbell album is quite surprising, maybe even shocking, and does not bode well for him. Really? I think pretty much everything is boding well for Mr. Isbell these days ($800 sneakers, anyone?). People here (me included) have been critical of his new direction ...

A series of disjointed thoughts..... I certainly respect others opinions, however I dig the album. Other than Southeastern, Jason and the 400 Unit don't have an album in their catalog which I consider to be great. To my ears his albums are usually unbalanced in regards to some being standouts, some ...

Number one pick secured, Markelle Fultz coming to Philly. Trust the process. If that's who Philly has identified as their guy, it was a good move to trade up to get him. It was also another solid move for Danny Ainge, since the Celtics don't need another front end point guard on their roster. Far b...
