Nice write up and great pictures (none of Jimbo?) Sucks the Hi Tone is closing...Saw the Radiators last year on their Last Rodeo tour and like you mentioned, you are right with the band in this place. Great classic Roadhouse.... Glad you made it to the gig.... Yeah I realized no Jimbo when I review...

JI & The 400 Unit, Hi Tone, Memphis, TN Dec 20, 2012

Ok just got landed and settled after spending the past couple days in Memphis on business. Just so happened my favorite singer songwriter from Greenhill, Al happened to be in town. Playing at a place called the Hi-Tone. Some facts Jason dropped on the crowd during the show: Hi Tone is where Jason sa...

Re: DBT Merchandise Ideas

I am a fan of higher quality tshirts that are a little more fitted. The two I have from shows are like kites, very wide and very short. I would definitely pay more money for those half poly half cotton shirts. More sticker options as well.

Re: Rock Show Columbia, MO Jan.22

Cool. Did you guys go to their show at the Missouri theater here in 2011? Good show, but I'm glad they're playing the Blue Note this time. It's a much better set-up for a rock show. Really, that was the first show I'd been to where there were seats (not counting the big arena shows that I've been t...

Re: Bands that are hugely popular that you can't stomach?

Radiohead is a pretty diverse band. You could pick 10 songs that would convince a new listener that they're a Brit pop band, another alt-rock, aural soundscapy stuff (?), glitchy electronic dancy stuff, etc etc. Their last couple albums haven't done much for me (in fact, I haven't even bothered wit...

Re: Kickstarters

I donate regularly to kickstarter projects. Mostly, because I want to see them get funded. I'll be honest, the "prizes" definitely sweeten the pot when I'm considering whether or not to give. But, I will say the endgame is the main motivator. I also like being part of the process. I recen...

I had never heard of kickstarter until American Aquarium sent me an email telling me about their KS campaign. They were looking to raise 20k to properly record their latest album. I donated $100, for that I got a pre release download, a signed album, tshirt, two concert tickets, and my name in the l...

I know it's been mentioned before that Caitlin Cary has contributed vocals to some of their records (though I'm not sure about this one) and her husband (former Whiskeytown/Patty Hurst Shifter drummer, both currently with the Small Ponds) Skillet Gilmore has done some of their artwork but he's outd...
