Re: The Neverending Thread for Political Shit
Here in San Miguel County we’ve had zero COVID deaths. Zero. Even after an influx of tens of thousands of tourists in the last year. Yet Tellurude remains the most restrictive towns I know about. And you’re likely to catch a trophy tale wife around here spewing something like...”can you believe tho...

I also scored a $2 parking spot. I had no idea there is or was such a thing. Cheaper than taking the T. There was a row of parking meters on the other side of the turnpike. One was empty. There was a cop around. I parked and before I could even ask he told me I could park there for the game. Only h...

Re: mlb 2020
I'm not into the whole camouflage thing but given that San Diego is a big military base zone it makes sense. You're right, the old ones were terrible. Good team this year. & that stadium is lovely. If I were wealthy, I'd stay in the hotel connected by skybridge to the stadium. I'd move to San Diego...

I have a soft spot for the Padres, even though they have hideous uniforms. Out of all the major league parks I've been to, Petco is my favorite. Its quirky, the weather usually perfect & they have great food. Great location, too. Nice to see them doing well. I think they're going to give the Dodger...

Re: mlb 2020
Except for the Bart Giamatti - Fay Vincent era, it feels like during my entire lifetime baseball has been run by people who don't even like the game. It's actually hard to make as many bad decisions as these guys do. I look at the occasional headline but I haven't looked at a single box score this ...

I see no reason why a high speed rail cannot share space with the I5 corridor It takes an hour to drive the 55 miles from LAX to the 15 with little traffic. Rarely is there little traffic. California is almost exclusively hills and mountains. The exception is central Cal., and that is not close to ...

As an enthusiastic supporter of high speed long distance rail, I am posting the opposing viewpoint because I think it's useful to have multiple perspectives. But I disagree with just about all of this. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-train-travel-revolution-that-isnt/2021/05/04/839acd68...

Re: mlb 2020
I have been becoming more and more disillusioned with baseball in recent years. However, it is something that my dad and I still like to talk about all the time so that has kept me fairly up to date on what our team, the Cardinals, is up to. So when my dad decided to cut his cable television off I ...

Re: BBQ (and grilling) Thread
I have been cooking with a Weber 22 inch grill for over 20 years. Has anyone ever used this 3rd market smoker designed exactly for my grill? Looks so simple, but reviews are good.

Been out of So Cal for 3 years now. I went to Padre games at Dodger Stadium at least once a year for decades. Went to games at Petco and Qualcom when I could. I have only really missed my sons since I moved from California, but boy, do I wish I could go to Dodger Stadium this year and be a fan of th...

So we should have been leery all these years of a certain "57 states" former president. Thats a non sequitur. You are referring to Obama? This was during campaigning in the primaries. Wether he was sleep deprived or not, he was referring to primaries, and used the word states while including territ...
