Re: Denver, March 9

For a very brief second I thought about skipping this show...then I came to my senses.

Got the end of the week and beginning of the next week off from work. 3x DBT and then Radiohead (hopefully with a day of skiing at Aspen Highlands in between). I have a feeling it will be a good week.

Damn...nice sounding recording. I might have to pick up a pair of those Avantones.

I like how they sounds with Barbe. Makes me more psyched for the Colorado shows.

Thanks.

I'm in for all 3 nights in Colorado!

Hopefully it starts snowing. I wouldn't mind getting a day in at Aspen Highlands.

Re: West Coast 2012 dates

Very nice! Looks like I will be taking an entire week off of work. I've got these 3 DBT show, then a day off to travel back to Denver, and then Radiohead.

Looks like tickets for the Colorado shows go on sale on the 13th at the venue sites and the 12th on DBT.com.

Re: Statement from Shonna

WOW! Didn't expect this news any time soon. The timing has me a bit perplexed considering the planned schedule (or lack thereof) for next year. You'd think at the very least she could have made it another month or two. I wasn't really that shocked when Jason was out. I could see how his musical dire...

At least for concerts.

I love Stubhub for baseball.

I get $5 seats, and then move down to the infield boxes. Can't beat that. It's too bad the Rockies suck.

Just saw they moved the date on this show.

Doesn't matter to me...I'll be out of town :( , but I figured I'd let the rest of you Denver-ites out.

Re: DBT to Play Jack White's Joint.vinyl will result!

Wow, the version of Everybody Needs Love with Hood Sr. on bass is fan-fucking-tastic. Great song to start with. Love David's playing on it. No problem with Shonna's play normally, but David's is just different good. Take Time To Know Her is great too. They did a fantastic job at it. Really good rec...

Re: DBT to Play Jack White's Joint.vinyl will result!

Mine came today. Just dropped the needle on it. Sounds nice so far.

Center hole on mine was a little messy. Had to make it a bit larger. Poor quality control on vinyl ticks me off. Might have damaged the label on one side a bit, but it's not like I'd ever sell this thing.

If you're one of those cost is no object types...a copy of the blue/black vinyl is on ebay:

Personally I will settle for the plain ol' black vinyl. Hopefully it's up there soon. Can't wait to hear it.

Is it safe to assume since Jason doesn't allow taping that he'd also be against posting MP3's of official releases here?

Re: Artist of the Week 5/8/11 - Magnolia Electric Co.

One of the few bands I like more than DBT. The Songs: Ohia - Magnolia Electric Co. album is certainly in my top 10 albums of all time. I still prefer DBT live, but overall MECo is hard to beat IMO. Jason Molina is hugely under-rated as a songwriter. Sounds like he's been sick for the past year or so...

Re: Jason Isbell No Longer Allowing Taping Of His Concerts

It seems that the bands that allow tapers (DBT, Wilco, seemingly every jam band) generally have the best-sounding live recordings, precisely because they allow tapers to set mike stands up in good spots and get a quality take. It's bands that make fans clip microphones to their hats that end up wit...

I know everyone is not happy with this, however let's respect his decision and go support him either purchasing his album or seeing him live. Re: Jason Isbell No Longer Allowing Taping Of His Concerts

Word is Jason doesn't like how the recordings sound. I don't think the leak of the album has anything to do with this. 99.9% of all albums leak early. That should just be a fact of life for artists in the 21st Century. I'm guilty of downloading it early...but I will buy it. I prefer to wait to buy i...

FYI: Jason Isbell is NO LONGER TAPER FRIENDLY!

Shocking news. Sounds like Jason has decided to no longer allow live recording of his shows. Word is he doesn't like how they sound. I'll probably still go to shows, and I will (probably) respect his wishes to not record (at the very least I will keep any recordings I make to myself). That's a real ...

FWIW, I saw DBT last summer at the Mile High Music Festival, and it was easily the worst DBT set I've ever seen.

45 min. DBT set + the Sun being out + DMB fans = No fun.

Re: Why not Sell Soundboards?

Matt already has plenty to do, and at this point, I do not think that the band carries it's own board around. Therefore it would be very time consuming to get a *good* mix for a SBD recording every night. The band now has it's own soundboard. We were talking to Matt about it in Denver. Pretty cool ...

Nice set at Twist & Shout. Those guys down there rule. I've seen Ryan Bingham, Slim Cessna AND DBT in less than a month there.

Patterson and Jay were very nice. Got my Go-Go Boots vinyl signed by both of them and got Patterson to sign my Dirt Underneath poster from the Fox shows.

Record Store Day release from DBT?

I have seen a few lists for RSD (still no official list) and haven't seen anything from DBT. Anyone hear anything about a DBT release? I guess we're a bit spoiled, and I guess it's ok for a band to not have a release for EVERY RSD. Still...hoping for something. The list so far looks as good as I've ...
