Re: Sturgill Simpson Thread

I 100% agree with TW, I was there last night and man can Sturgill play. The band is great, setlist rocked and people ate it up. While I really enjoyed all the electric he played, the handful of solo songs he played on acoustic were outstanding as well. If you get a chance to catch this tour with the...

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

Last night sturgill Simpson and guns and roses. Sturgill only played 7 songs but it was great, he ripped that electric up, going to be a lot of fun to see him next month. I was shocked at how good guns and roses were, never saw them back in the day but those dude did it up. Friday bob weir 11th wilco.

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

Last night - Hayes Carll. Great show and banter.

Tonight - G Love and Special Sauce. Been 10 years since I've seen them, figured a little nostalgia trip could be fun.

Totally agree with Clams, HGM is the real deal, love it. I continue to be amazed at the high quality bands that always seem to open for DBT. They definitely give you a lot of bang for the buck.

Interstellar Boys

New project that Todd Nance put together that has John Neff in it. Line up looks interesting to me, I like Jerry Joseph as well as Bloodkin.

There is no download here, there was a link on the first page of the thread to stream the show live each night. I did see a link on etree.org yesterday for a recording of the first night, hope that helps.

FLAC Converters for Macbook

I hope this is the correct place to ask this. I recently purchased a mac book and have a bunch of Flac files that I want to convert. When I was using my old PC I had the Flac conversion down, but now I am in a new place trying to figure out what would be the easiest way to get some of these old show...

Very cool, I figured there were some people here that liked it. I agree their whole scene is great and if you liked the Haggard show with the covers Clams, you will dig their recording of Neil Youngs Everybody Knows This is Nowhere album.

The Mother Hips

I know that WWCD is familiar with this band and they are one of my all time favorites. They play their annual holiday shows every year in S.F and in the last few years they have been doing special sets, full albums, etc one of the nights. This year they played their third "Ultimate Setliat Show" whe...

I have not had the chance to see him with the horn section yet, I really liked it on SNL, sounded great. He really needs to lay off abusing his guitars though, damn man.

I think super 8 is fun but my wife hates it. It is pretty entertaining because we will drive by random hotels and she will sing her own rendition. Like " don't wanna die in a courtyard by Marriott". It is pretty entertaining.

WWCD - no more underground in Chico? I may be dating myself with that one but it was there when I was a student, bummer if it's gone. Clams- give sturgill another shot, the fuss is real. I believe Iowan had a nice write up further back in this post that made a lot of sense as to why it is so good. ...

So far... 1. Lydia Loveless - Real. DBT had taken this spot for awhile, but I've come back to thinking this is basically a masterpiece with only one even psuedo-misstep (Heaven) 2. Drive-By Truckers - American Band. This rips hard. DBT back in form, excellent lyrically. I can get bored with a coupl...
