Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread

Man, it's killing me over here - but for technical reasons not worth going into, I have this album downloaded but nowhere to play it right now!

Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread

I'm waiting to see if the DBT t-shirt I asked for is under the tree and then I'll pre-order the album after that. Very excited that there's -5- bonus tracks!

Haven't succumbed to the leak yet, but I probably will before its all said & done.

Re: Spotify hits the US

This is a really great op-ed from the owner of Thirty Tigers (Jason's current label) posted over the summer. The crux is that for all the hype you hear about Spotify, their market share in the US is still very low. If they ever get to the saturation point they have in Sweden, the payout picture is g...

Re: DBT's: More Athens or Alabama?

On a somewhat related note: Did Cooley or Isbell ever live in Athens, or were they always "commuters"?

Re: The TV thread

My wife and I tried that a couple years ago but only lasted a couple months before going back to cable*. The problem was we're both football fans, and I couldn't find an antenna strong enough to pull in the local Fox and NBC stations. If I could, though, I'd do it in a heartbeat. What kind of anten...

Re: The TV thread

As a newbie here, I haven't read through all 50-something pages of the thread to know if this has been discussed, but I was wondering if anyone else on 3DD has any experience with cord cutting cable and going to an all broadcast/streaming option for TV viewing? We're about to take the plunge later t...

Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread

"It comes to women and they survive, but when the same comes to men / Someone comes for their babies something dies there and then" Lines like this are why I love Cooley's songs so much. I wasn't sure what to expect from this album - but I'm so excited to hear the whole thing after this te...

Re: Newbies--Introduce yourselves

Welcome aboard Mike. Lots of touring next year. They should be up your way. Buffalo is next week. How far away are you Buaffalo is 4 hrs and Columbus is 2, but Detroit was the one I was thinking about hitting up since it is on a Friday. However next month is going to be crazy with travel for work, ...

Re: Newbies--Introduce yourselves

Hi folks, I'm Mike. I've been reading here for a bit and decided to join in. My journey to Truckers fandom has been a long one. I first became aware of them in the SRO era, but it didn't really connect with me much at that time. A few years later, I picked up "The Dirty South" and liked it...
