Re: Grateful Dead Core Four July3-5th Soldier Field

what a difference a day can bring, at about 9:00 last night with snow falling on Georgia we got the confirmation email that our order had been filled. My wife was so excited that she ran outside barefoot in the snow to tell me :D

Re: Dirt Underneath Tour 2015

Neff played pedal steel last time, right? I'm sure he did though I can't say for sure which songs he played the steel on, what I can say for sure is that he did play a Baxendale 6 string acoustic, it was the same one that was raffled off as part of the nuci's space fundraiser about 3 or 4 homecomin...

I think the 40 watt crud is trying to overtake me, slightly chilled, dizzy and exhausted as I type this and I only had a single shot of Maker's Mark last night so I know it's something more serious than a hangover. :(

Re: Homecoming 2015: 2/12, 2/13, 2/14 @ The Fabulous 40 Watt

Saturday night was great, being that it was the only show of the run that we were able to make it to I feel we got more than our moneys worth. I had hoped to meet up earlier in the day with Gary and Clams and finally share the beer I've owed him for like 5 years now, but it just wasn't in the cards....

Re: Ghosts of Homecomings past

I really miss that pedal steel. I wish they would have someone sit in every now and then. The occasional "sit in" would be nice. I've always wondered what a pedal steel setup would cost and how long it would take a badass musician (like, say, umm.....Jay) to learn it. A man can dream. Was...

On one hand Scotty, I really hope your friends find tickets. On the other hand I just desperately hope its not me who provides them this time around. Hey Gary, we are in for Saturday, I'd like to grab a beer and catch up with you since I haven't seen you since the Ga Theatre show several years ago....

Re: Grateful Dead Core Four July3-5th Soldier Field

the big deal is that it's the 50th and they are returning to the last place the played with Jerry, sure they've played together since he died but just like any partnership that lasts that long, 50 years is worth celebrating. It's more of a time to remember the music and an opportunity to be a part o...

Re: Zac Brown Band Recorded Dress Blues

Other than the off key guitar solo I thought it was a decent cover that did the original justice. As to the changing of the lyric, IMO part of what makes a "good" cover is the artist adding their own touches and making the song their own, mix that in with the conservative culture of Nashvi...

Re: 3dd hall of fame: 1960s

I would move the Allman Brothers Band to the 1970s seeing as how their first two albums had marginal sales and Live at Fillmore East was released in 1971 and that was the album that really garnished commercial success. is this a "no" vote for inducting the allman bros into the 3dd 1960s h...

I'll throw some more fuel on the "Get there Thurs night fire" Not only is Athens a short and easy trip from Atlanta, but hotel rooms are cheaper as well too. Plus Atlanta morning traffic can be a real bitch to get around in. ;)

Hey Swamp, Trigger Hippy is definitely one to put on your list. I was never a big Joan Osborne fan until I saw her in the Standing in the Shadows of Motown doc, and she kills it in this band, just a perfect fit. Top that off with Jackie Green who pulls double duty on hammond B3 and lead guitar

Hey Swamp, they are playing at Terminal West. It's a new(ish) music hall here, been open for about 2 years I think in the old King Plow Company building. I'm going and will give a report sometime next week. :)
