Re: Favorite Moment From A DBT Show

40 Watt Homecoming Show night one the year Go Go Boots was released and the band did the album in its entirety. My girlfriend and I had been dating a couple months at that point and when the band got around to Mercy Buckets Patterson said something to the effect of this was their prom or homecoming ...

Re: Tabernacle in Atlanta

I have waited for this show what seems like forever. The sound for St. Paul & the Broken Bones was spot on. The Drive-By Truckers sound was horrible, even at The Tabernacle. Ban me from the club, but it's true. I went to the floor & all levels of the balcony. The vocals were garbage & H...

Re: Intro Playlist

To me that's more DBT 102 material, if we're going intro class then I'm including some of the more popular songs that folks will roll their eyes out but were great to all of us at one time. Those would be songs like Outfit, Sweet Annette, Women Without Whiskey, Zip City, Where the Devil Don't Stay, ...

Autumn Attics

Saw our old friend John Neff last night with a new project he's been working with called Autumn Attics at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta. Good show and if you get a chance to check them out you should do so, Neff is playing pedal steel along with Benji Shanks on guitar, the project is spearheaded by Gr...

Re: AoTW - 9/2/13 - Allman Brothers Band

Unfortunately it's true, very sad in many ways. I just saw Brian Friday night when Mule played the Georgia Theatre, lately my wife and I had noted that he didn't seem to be in very good health and looked tired. I'm sure Warren is hurting, they've been a team for as long as I can remember, not to men...

My wife said something that really struck a chord with me last night, she said that "you know, if someone with his wealth and connections can't get the help that he needs then who amongst us really can?" I too hope it's not suicide however it just goes to show how someone who can bring so ...

So I guesss Shonna Tucker and Eye Candy are kaput? It doesn't look like it. According to her FB page, Shonna Tucker and Eye Candy are scheduled to play Secret Stages in Birmingham, AL in August. That said, the line up is listed as: Clay Leverett, Bo Bedingfield, Neil Golden and John Neff so it look...

Re: Beginner Guitar

I'll back up everything Clams recomended and add that a squier or Epiphone makes a great starter guitar and then some, I've played gigs w/ a Squier classic vibe tele and unless you read the headstock you'd never know it wasn't an american made instrument. The big thing to spend money on at that age ...

So you might know this: We used to hang at a bar near where we lived there called Fuzzy's. A much higher level of music than you'd expect from the size and wonderful crowd. I've heard it closed and "re-opened" under a new name. Is it worth seeking out if I get back?[/quote] Better late tha...

There's all sorts of speculaiton about what the real story is with Gregg these days over on the ABB boards. So far this year he's been a bigger no show than Dickey has I had tickets to two nights of the Beacon run this year and he was a no show for one and the other was postponed until October. I re...

Re: Smoking Crack on eBay and Jason Isbell

I have a side business, more of a hobby really, dealing in guitars, amps & effects pedals and I see a lot of the same people asking absurd prices. A lot of people who are uneducated in values or don't take the time to do the research feel that just because something is old it must be valuable.

Eric Church, country music's biggest d-bag

m my apologies for the Fox News link but this jack wagon is now claiming that he was the first person in country music to sing about things like beer and trucks? I have to admit I've been pulling for this guy to take a dive ever since he butchered the songs he did at the Love for Levon benefit and t...

be sure you have something comfortable to sleep on, be it a therma-rest or inflatable mattress etc. at some point you're going to want to sleep. Also take ear plugs, not so much for the music but to keep out the sounds of those around you when you're trying to rest. Tennessee at that time of year ca...

So it may be 4 years after the question was asked but better late than never right? As the self annointed guitar geek that's definitely a Gretsch and it looks like the model is a g5120 Electormatic Hollow Body.
