Re: Doc Watson

We went Prairie Home Companion in Cary, NC Saturday evening(live show) and had a blast. The show was dedicated to Doc, included a medley with rambling hobo. I'm troubled, I am a pilgrim, down to the river to prey, your long journey, shady grove. A several minutes after the closing song, (about half t...

Re: DBT Tribute Band?

I've done the tribute band thing and learned a little about that end of the biz. The tough thing about a DBT tribute band is that your competition is.... Drive By Truckers. When I was in the southern rock tribute band the band leader's goal was to play the tribute band circuit which is theaters and...

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

Well, so much for my plans... Due to illness, the TODD SNIDER SHOW has been CANCELLED. Please help spread the word. This process is new to me, but I can tell you what I know to help answer questions. He will perform a make up date (announced soon), and the ticket you own will be good at that show. ...

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

Todd Snider in Wilmington on Saturday. I'm not a huge fan (as of now), but he's on my list of people to see live, and I haven't caught his show yet, and it was only a $20 ticket. Needed something to do thing weekend anyway. Todd is great live. I was at a show at the Cat's Cradle a few years ago whe...

Would have loved to seen 4th Night and Used to Be a Cop, but I'm 18 was pretty freaking hot. One complaint- sound. Aside from the obv...

G.Amp has strict 10pm curfew on weekends.

Jeff Sipe, Mike seal are playing at the Rust Nail (very close to the ampitheater) for $5. The Rusty Nail is a small, hole in the wall bar....cool place.

Re: It's time

A few things here. I'm sure Pearl Jam, Phish, and other bands have a lot more people and equipment to do this well night in and night out. As far as I can see, the Matador already has quite a bit to do as it is. You need a completely different mix when going for a live recording off of the SBD than...

Re: Isbell on Spotify - Graham Lesh listening

I guess I should have caught that. Phil and Ryan Adams have been in contact for a number of years. PL&F used to cover Cold Roses a lot. Cool how things tie in together like that. The rumor was always that Jimmy Herring left Phil's band because Phil always supported Adams and tolerated his bad b...

Re: DBT at Floydfest!!

I understand, otherwise your kids would have a blast. I always recommend bringing earplugs if you are camping (just in case) Also take some type of poison ivy cleaner (dawn works well) for washing feet and hands, it's all in the wooded areas. If washed within 12/24 hrs(?) of contact, you will not ha...
