Re: Books Thread

When I saw Deadly Game by Michael Caine on the library shelf I asked myself is that the Michael Caine? The answer was yes, so curiosity piqued, I grabbed it. Kudos to him for branching out and for apparently writing the book on his own. As for the result, meh. I liked the main characters. The plot ...

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

I saw Particle Kid in a tiny club on Thursday. Phenomenal band! I can see why Neil Young picked Micah Nelson to be in Crazy Horse. The rest of the band are no slouches either. This was the second time I've seen them & they're seriously moving up the favorite band list.

Re: Fisherman’s village music festival

Question for the wiser ones. With an 11 pm start time would you expect a full length show? My wife and I are thinking of flying down from anchorage. Haven’t seen them at a festival and am wondering what to expect? Thanks Anyone else going? Everett is pretty rugged in places. Last time I checked the...

Re: Books Thread

Gregg Hurwitz's Lone Wolf is one of the best entries in his Orphan X series and a welcome return to form after what I thought were a couple of lesser efforts. The depiction of the protagonist's struggle to deal with and be a part of "the normal world" is one of the best examples of the evolution of...

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water. I just got an email from LiveNation announcing a presale at 10AM local time tomorrow. The code word is: KEY. Hopefully that will help some of y'all.

has anyone received the email to actually claim the tix yet?
Yes. It's all online & should be in your ticketmaster account if you got the tickets.

Hmmm… I got confirms on all my ticket requests EXCEPT Boston which was my first priority. Fingers still crossed but I guess it wouldn’t be TM without some extra aggravation.
Maybe you'll have to go the deluxe route for Boston. You are a VIP after all.

Decent, a bit unfocused, nothing too surprising, other than just how MANY "oh yeah, I remember that" moments there are.

Re: Southern Rock Opera Redux

The regular tix seem fairly cheap (espy net of the fees, see below). The VIP tix are expensive in absolute terms but i have no idea how they compare to what other bands are doing. I'm getting some VIP tix in Boston because what the heck (and a couple of reserved seats too; believe it or not some of...

Looks like some sort of experiment is going on with Ticketbastard. I got an email about requesting tickets today & they will let me know if I got tickets on Monday. Usually I'm not big on nostalgia shows but SRO is worthy. The band is also doing VIP experiences for over double the GA price. I put i...

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

I attended Mojo's Final Mayhem at SXSW. I've been attending for a long time. This was a hell of show, rocking, emotional, long and packed. It had been planned as the final Mayhem before he passed and Mojo had curated the line-up. Everyone showed up and it was a hell of a wake. The Beat Farmers, Kni...

RIP Karl Wallinger of The Waterboys and World Party, dead at 66. I liked the Waterboys but i loved World Party for a few years back in the day. A sad day even if he wasn't so young
Eric Carmen of The Rasberries died too. Age 74. Go All The Way definitely a classic.

Masters of the Air - I'm watching it, but for some reason I don't like it. I don't have a particular reason and don't really want to dive in deeper to try and understand why. However, unfortunately, 4 episodes in, I feel like it is my patriotic duty to finish it. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to mak...

I call that a big...

Mr. & Mrs. Smith - liked the movie so figured I'd give it a shot. First episode had enough good things to make us want to continue. The second episode was a big step down, leaving it up to the 3rd episode to determine if we would continue. That would be a big, fat, very loud NO. Terrible. The pacin...
