Re: Jason's Top Ten (per Nashville Scene)

If we aren’t including DBT songs I’d go:

Dress Blues
Codeine
Cover Me Up
Tupelo
Live Oak
Speed Trap Town
Elephant
Last of My Kind
Something to Love
Alabama Pines

Re: NFL 2017

I’m not a big fan of Colin Kaepernick, but after watching a half of Jay Cutler vs. Matt Cassel, it’s embarrassing the guy hasn’t been signed yet.

Re: Songs of the Year 2017

Tried just going off the top of my head, so I’m sure I missed something, but my absolute favorites so far: “Feathered Indians” - Tyler Childers “Last of My Kind” - Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit “Old Wounds” - John Moreland “Groundswell” - Angaleena Presley “Either Way” - Chris Stapleton “Codeine Dream...

Re: Jason's Top Ten (per Nashville Scene)

I only agree with about half of their selections, but it is a great writeup, and they at least defend their choices well. The Scene has become one of my favorite weekly publications in the area because of stuff like this. Also just hit me today that his run at the Ryman kicks off here in a couple da...

Re: American Band- 9/30/16

Upon AB’s release I admittedly wasn’t a huge fan. However over the last year it’s grown on me, and I’d consider What It Means, Baggage, and Once They Banned Imagine to be among their finest work. I don’t think I’d rank it any higher than 6th or 7th in their discography, but considering everything th...

I'm not sure Butch Jones deserves that lofty of a distinction at this point. it might be one of the few games we could win  Good friend of mine is a UNC fan, been fun having someone to commiserate with. And to think some of the UT brass wanted Larry Fedora as head coach after Derek Dooley was ...

While this will end up being a black eye for the sport, I have to think it’s gonna be a good thing in the long term. Try to get CBB (relatively) clean, hopefully spread out some talent now that the major powers at least can’t blatantly cheat to get big time recruits. They aren't going to reform shi...

Reports saying that Jurich was asked to fire Pitino first, and then was fired himself after he refused. What a hill to die on.

something to keep your eye on. In addition to the four schools mentioned, Louisville *seems* to be under investigation as well. If true, I don't see how Pitino can survive yet another scandal. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/20824193/ncaa-basketball-coaches-10-charged-fraud-c...

RIP Weasel. Too young to have gotten to see him in his prime, but I grew up with old WWF tapes. He had me in stitches the way he picked on guys like Virgil before he had to retire.
