I really like All That You Can't Leave Behind and really don't understand why it's not more popular. I don't mean to suggest that it's in the pantheon of U2 albums, but as simply a really fine straight ahead rock n roll album i don't find much wrong w/ it. I'm just commenting on the thread there, i ...

BTB--i gotta weigh in on the Nathan's hotdogs. Whenever i go out to Coney Island, i'm always unimpressed. I don't see what the big to do (holla!) is...plus they throw cheeze whiz all over the chilidogs and fries...i mean it hardens in 5 seconds. Made a special trip out there when my parents came to...

yeah it's autobiographical... I think all great art is, to an extent, autobiographical. Even good science fiction or fantasy has elements of the author's life in it. Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. But he includes elements of his own life like the relations...

exactly. Howard is fat, slow, and can't hit lefties. He can hit for power, but that can go away in a flash. You want to be paying this guy $25 mil when he's 35? Believe me, as a Cubs fan I know A LOT about terrible baseball contracts He may be big but he's not fat (take a look at the pic atop this ...

Ryan Howard's contract is almost as bad as Soriano's. Good gravy If the Phils can keep their core (Howard, Utley, J Roll, Victorino, Halladay, etc) together and contend they way the have for another 3 or 4 seasons, then I'm okay with it. I dont know whether it's a good contract or a bad one, but i ...
