Re: Clamsland, err, Philly, Nov 19
Whirlwind weekend for me, as I started off with an Anthrax concert in Cleveland on Friday night, then drove cross-PA all day Saturday to pick up Reverend Todd and make it to a bar in Philly in time to watch OSU lose to Penn State. Got to spend the day with my nephew who is new to Philadelphia, and t...

Re: DBT Track Of The Week #28- "A World Of Hurt"
I get a tear in my eye everytime the band plays this number...Cooley's solo at the end is fantastic to boot....makes you realize just how special life is - the highs and the lows....and everything in between... Couldn't have said it better myself! I never get sick of hearing this song, and it alway...

Re: Patterson Hood / Alice Cooper: What's the connection?
Yeah, Vince Gill actually plays guitar on the song, but the writing credit is "Alice Cooper, Patterson Hood, Bob Ezrin", which probably means Patterson gave Alice an instrumental track he had lying around (with about 75 other tracks he's working on...LOL), and Alice and/or Bob wrote the ly...

Re: New Year's Eve 2011
Well I have October 20th, and November 19th on my plate, so a NYE show would be fantastic, meaning I will be seeing DBT every month for the next 3 (4 if I do the Athens run as well). And 930 Club would be as great a place as any, and probably a little closer than some...

Re: Patterson Hood / Alice Cooper: What's the connection?
m He plays guitar on "I Gotta Get Out Of Here" which is the last proper song on the new album, there's an instrumental "Underture" afterwards, but anyway. It definitely has the Patterson feel as far as the sound of the guitar. Now that I know he's playing on it I can't NOT hear t...

I saw JTE last night in Detroit and Jason played the whole set with him! I don't follow Jason's twitter, so when he showed up on stage it was an awesome surprise! Here's a shitty cell phone picture of Jason and the adorable fiddle player [Amanda, I think?]: http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae262/...

I've been lucky enough to see "Little Bonnie" TWICE (they have only played it 5 times total). I've seen "Blessing And A Curse" at least twice. I've seen "Cottonseed" 3 times, but wish Cooley would start playing it again. My favorite DBT song, period. I am just rubbing i...

Oddly enough, some on this board seem to think "Uncle Frank" isn't played often. If you mean my comment about "Uncle Frank" being a highlight for me (and I know my other highlights were mostly rarities), I am aware that they play it a lot, but they could play it every show and I...

Re: The Orange Peel -- Asheville, NC 6/24 & 6/25
"Box Of Spiders" is almost becoming a regular play. It was cool hearing the story from Patterson last night . Those shows were so epic it's hard to put into words. For the longest time nothing could top my first show in DC '06. New Years Eve in NYC rose to that level, Lexington Night 2 was...

With the exception of "Late For Church ", I prefer live versions of the songs on GB. I pretty much loathe the studio version of "18 Wheels " (I prefer the story intro and I hate the deep "Road Hog" backing vox). So PD for me...

Holy crap I can't believe they played "Sounds Better". Haven't heard that since my very first show, when Cooley fucked up the words and "fired" RevTodd for not knowing them. Talk about coming full circle. And as fate would have it, my DBT concert career is STILL bracketed by &quo...

Apparently one of the idiots thrown out of the Portland show was a regular with a sense of entitlement. My buddy who just moved there (and got a DBT rock show in his first week in town) said that Patterson said something along the lines of "I don't care who you know or how many shows you've bee...
