Back in the day, Coors was THE beer in the East, basically because it wasn't available. Folks would come back from trips out West raving about this great beer and it took on mystical qualities. Of course the choices were a lot fewer then, but the dynamic is still the same. I've never tasted Bell's ...

Re: Recent Purchases

Picked up this LP by Family Band (no, not Robert Randolph nor a Prince aggregation...). Very nice stuff, and the LP is very well recorded and mastered and sounds outstanding. It's more of that moody/folky/atmospheric/earthy/bluesy stuff that defies categorization. You can hear the whole thing here: ...

This stuff always gets watered down and just becomes fashion after a point, but the Crips (who sport blue colors) wore the blue KC Royals caps and the KC stood for Killer Crips. But there are also non-blue KC Royals caps worn by Bloods and other gangs, and the KC stands for Kill the Crips. Supposedl...

Wendy--the missus and official bluebird monitor--reports that all five eggs have hatched and the nestbox is now a-stir with five wriggling pinkish-gray alien-looking bluebird babies.

We still have a dog--Jaxie--a 10-year-old (more or less, she was a rescue dog who'd spent her first two or so years on the streets before we got her) mixed breed ...

'Tis the season (almost) for meals you don't cook:
Fresh-sliced, homegrown tomatoes; thin rings of red onion; chopped kalamata olives; minced garlic; shredded basil; and chunks of real mozarella, all slathered in olive oil and Balsamic vinegar with salt, pepper, and a dash of red pepper flakes.

I'd like it a lot more if they would have just had Roky's picture on the cover and left it at that.
