Re: Heathens Homecoming 2018

Did the group picture from after the Saturday show ever surface anywhere? I would love to see it!

Similarly, is there an archive somewhere of all the Homecoming group photos? I never saw the one from when Jeremy and I came down in 2011 either!

Re: Heathens Homecoming 2018

I'm loving reading everyone's reviews of the weekend and I don't think I can add much to what's already been said. But I'll add my voice to the echo of how special this community is and how much I delight in meeting and befriending fellow Truckers fans at Homecoming. Hey - do any of you RailBirds ha...

Re: HOMECOMING 2017

I haven't posted in sixteen eternities but after this weekend I had to pop in and say hi. Jeremy and I had a great time at our second Homecoming (though we hadn't been since 2011!), and it was wonderful to see so many new and familiar faces in line and on the rail. Still trying to get back in the sw...

I couldn't make it, thought I really wanted to. Totally agree about the ROMT, though, and that shitty venue helped ease the sting of missing the show. How was Lee Bains III? Love his stuff, and hope he went over well! I saw on FB (from someone I don't know) that the crowd was lame and complacent fo...

Re: Royal Oak, MI 9/13

^ Yep. That nice very tall guy was indeed there on the rail with his son again, and after the new song Patterson pointed at him and said "that one was for you, buddy!" The moral of the story = bring your kids to Truckers' shows. I agree with Jeremy that it was a hard-driving, special night...

Detroit and Toronto this weekend were my eighth and ninth shows, and between those two I heard SEVEN songs I hadn't heard before. 18 Wheels of Love 1 72 (This Highway's Mean) 2 After the Scene Dies 2 A Ghost to Most 4 Angels and Fuselage 3 Assholes 1 Birthday Boy 7 Box of Spiders 2 Buford Stick 1 Bu...

Totally agree that the sound was not up to snuff. Hopefully they'll be back at St. Andrews for their next stop in Michigan.

That said, the setlist was great - they played four songs I'd never heard before and it was awesome having so many 3DD-ers in my home state. :)

What a terrible loss. Like Jeremy said, Craig was so welcoming to us in Athens a few years ago, and I'd talked to him a handful of times at the Detroit shows, too. Such a friendly, cool dude. He's gonna be sorely missed.

Really stellar performance. I was a little worried because something was seriously wrong with the sound during Fourth Night, but it got resolved right away and the Truckers brought it. I was especially excited to hear 72. Puttin' People on the Moon and Buttholeville were also highlights for me. Got ...

No luck for me on the Detroit or Cleveland shows. Can't switch around my plans for that week. Out of curiosity, is anyone going to the Detroit show? It seems like Detroit Rock City doesn't get much love. Underrated city. Bought my tix for the Detroit show today! Underrated city for sure. Just moved...

That said,as a fan I can't help but take this opportunity to thank you for constantly letting us into the history and lore behind your art. Goddamn. I don't think I'll ever be disappointed with a DBT show, and after being deferred from my first choice pharmacy school earlier today, I don't think anything could have cheered me up better than a Rock Show. Right on the rail in Cooleyville and a great time was had by all. Rays Automatic Wea...

Re: You and Your Crystal Meth

Well, I don't find the song to be very musically appealing. The instruments combine to sound like uninspired noise, and the lyrics aren't among Patterson's best ("I used to love you / Now you suck" doesn't strike the tuning fork of my soul like his better work). I'm always turning people ...

I saw JTE last night in Detroit and Jason played the whole set with him! I don't follow Jason's twitter, so when he showed up on stage it was an awesome surprise! Wow that is super cool and I am blue/black with envy. Just curious and this is probably a stupid question but how exactly do they do this? I expected it to be exactly 1/2 black and 1/2 blue and now that I see the picture I wonder if anyone knows exactly how they go about producing a vinyl disc that...

We were standing outside the venue and Cooley walks by. He notices that UR has cut his hair, and says to him "So what happened, did you lose a bet, or did you get a job? " Then he cracks up and keeps walking along. I couldn't resist sharing that. Classic Cooley. That's wonderful. Glad you...
