The good news is that people don't feel the need to rush to social media arounds these parts.

The bad news is that when I wake up and want to know what happened....I have to be patient.

Re: DBT at NYC"S Beacon Theatre on Oct. 17

I cannot make this show. I really want to but I just can't do it, dog is sick and that is more important at this time. Regardless I have a cheap ticket up for grabs (cheap as in its not first row), free to who needs it. Logistics will have some dynamics in that you would have to connect with my frie...

Re: The Truckers need a new pedal steel player

I love the pedal steel, but for the DBT's I think those days are in the past. Personally I have wanted to hear more Jay on keyboards for years, and never knew he could shred on guitar, so I'm a pretty happy camper these days. I don't see this happening, and I think it would be a step back for them. ...

I noticed that this was under community audio. Most recordings are in the Live Music Archive. Any reason for community audio?

Thanks for the recording, downloading now.

Re: Northampton 3/14/13

Great review btb! Listening this morning and I wish I could say that my recording was better. It's ok, certainly listenable but damn it would have been sweet if they had let me in the balcony. The other option would have been to tape from my front row seat and just wait till the show started to rai...

It was a Mike Cooley Show last night right out of the box with Devil Don't Stay. He nailed everything he played, and brought his A-game all night. Sounds Better In the Song was an unexpected and welcome surprise. I was hoping for some bust outs after a few days off the road. The GG Allen story was a...

Ever walk into a room and ask "Is it hot in here or is it just me"? This is probably what happened to this guy. He was in a bad mood, went to the show, was still in a bad mood, left, then complained. Retracted his FB statements and wished he never floated words he would not stick by. Perso...

Patterson was being liberal with the Patron, and was certainly enjoying himself. Nice opener with The Buford Stick, Sandwiches For...

Re: State, Portland ME, 3/9/13

Jay really tore it up last night with some dirty leads, he defiantly has a different approach than Neff. Some more noise, distortion and dissonance. They sounded very cohesive, and are able to maneuver well as a band. . Maine looks like its going to be a regular tour stop at this rate. Great crowd, ...

Good Show, crowd was somewhat small and reserved, but polite. Not a barn burner, but a lot of good music played. Cooley seemed a little reserved, but played really well. The Patterson 3fer was a surprise, along with Why Henery Drinks. They opened with Carl Perkins Cadillac which my buddy pointed out...

Luther will be in the house for NYE and a sit in was already a possibility. Now it seams like a lock. The DBT survived Jason leaving, they will survive this. Neff will be hard to replace for sure, not a lot of players have his taste.

Re: Cooley at The Slipper Room, NYC (11/15 and 11/16)

Great recording of a great show. Ya I wish that girl shut up, but I guess she paid to have her good time. The room was super cool place to see Cooley play. Intimate, ornate but not stuffy. The Slipper Room people were great and seemed very happy to have a packed audience, they also most likely enjoy...

Aftermath USA!!! I was wondering if they were ever going to do this again. Too bad about Neff being out. Hope everything goes well for his family. I would bet that this gave Jay some more room to maneuver, its pretty hard for him to shine at times the 3 guitar attack. The pedal steel is fairly predo...

Re: New Spring Tour Dates

Their new tour is interesting in that they play tues - sat nights. They are then fairly close to home, which will allow them to recoup for 2 day and then go back on the road for a work week of shows. It creates a good balance of keeping the show on the road and allowing some family down time.

Time for DBT Alive II

Its about high time the band put out a Live Double LP. They are on the top of their game with a really tight and full band sound. I think that Jay has really added a lot to the whole sound by being able to provide some sustain and depth to the massive guitar attack. Personally I don't get too excite...
