Great show, I think this is my 30th time seeing DBT and always nice to have a hometown show. Saying that I really really really hate the Newport.
Highlights for me were Sounds Better In the Song (sounded so trippy) and Goode's Field Road (felt like cooley was on fire).

Re: Question for the guitar geeks
Call me old fashion, but I only plug my guitars into tube amps. Wish I could help, but www.proguitarshop.com could have something or at least give the best suggestion for a good quality USB cable.

Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread
I come and go posting here all the time depending on what life throws at me. I've been a DBT fan since the Isbell days when I was captivated by them at Voodoo Fest 2006 in New Orleans.. You have got to understand that there is about maybe 30 people here who post a lot, who always have amazing discu...

Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread
Would've been nice to maybe set a 250 post minimum for getting the leak, but that horse is out of the barn. Methinks most of these newbies who showed up for a free link will never be heard from again If everyone who promises to "buy the vinyl" actually does, DBT will have their first top ...

Grand Canyon, talk about a tribute. Craig always recognized my friend, wife and I when we would come into shows and would always shoot the shit with him before the show. Last time I saw him was when we drove down for the Richmond VA Halloween shows and hung out with him at Grooves Records he was loo...

Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread
Could "made up English oceans" have anything to do with the Tea Party? Because the original use of the term referred to the US colonies striking for independence on the ocean (well, the Boston Harbor) from the British, who were trying to claim the US as theirs. Then republicans took over ...

Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread
Also, with the live versions of the songs I've heard so far Cooley's song English Oceans blew me away. First time I saw it live was at his two solo shows in Nashville last January and I saw it with Drive By Truckers at the Columbus show this year or the Kentucky show this year, but can't remember wh...

That's Whiteknuckle, WV. Really old (1998ish?) song that Patterson plays some solo, full band has never done it AFAIK. Thanks. I knew someone would educate me! Well finally found my old username, it's good to be back. If anyone can PM me a link to the new album that would be great. Put the pre-order in, but does anyone know what the bonus songs will be? I know Jimmy Page won't make the album as that's what Hood said at the last Nashville show, but hope it'...

Re: Cooley in Nashville 2/8 & 2/9
Amazing show tonight despite the annoying, selfish, talking assholes. The crowd straightened out after Cooley's 2nd or 3rd stiff tongue lashing. The "Little Willie" cover was too much. I haven't thought about that song in 10 years and I felt like a kid when he started playing it. I can't ...

Just woke up, think a part of me died last night. Took a eight hour drive to get here and after last night it was well worth it. By far the best DBT show I have ever been to. Not sure how they can top last night. Oh, that's easy. Patterson and Cooley are going to wear Zip City and LuthierJustin cos...

I cruised down with my wife, first time seeing the Truckers in Lexington. I can say the set list was great and they brought it. However, the crowd was horrible with the fist fights and a dude my wife and I dubbed "the alien". Not to mention the asshole who threw a beer on stage. Happy I fi...

Re: nerdy DBT guitar question
I don't agree with the part about the new Gibson's sucking soo soo soo......bad. You may well be right that most post '80 Gibsons are sub-par compared to vintage Gibsons, but saying that modern Gibson's suck is a bit of an overstatement. They're overpriced indeed, and the quality will vary from ins...

Re: nerdy DBT guitar question
They were probably vintage gibsons. New gibsons suck soo soo soo soo bad. Have two 70's 355's and would never buy a gibson post 1980. If you are in the market for a nice guitar check out a martin hd28v.

Found out about this band and there is not much out there. However, this tribute to Dale is excellent if i do say so myself.

Would love to know what type of pedals they are using and if any of their pedals are modded out. I believe they use a Boss SD1, but has to be modded out because those things sound like shit when they are not modded out. Would LOVE if cooley got his hands on a Klon Centaur, would be fucking up bitche...
