Re: WhiskyX Denver 2021 October 1

I live in KC and am not going to be able to make the show this weekend. I have two super VIP tickets that I am able to change the name on. Would give someone a really good deal on them, they are the SuperX VIP tickets. There is a whiskey subscription I will keep but there are two free bottles given ...

Re: Reefer

Was gifted a new "pax like" pen the other day. Stiiizy is the brand.

I can say that it is 10x better than the pax for battery life, smoothness and the pod sizes are 1g so last much longer. I hear cheaper as well but have not bought one in the store.

New favorite.

only two eps in so far but im not really feeling the new season of fargo at all. jessie buckley is fantastic but chris rock and jason schwartzman are terribly out of place as the leads, both feel way too much like comedians to fit the shows humor, and its just a limp gangster tale with none of the ...

Wow, I would like to say I am surprised at this but I knew it was coming, much like Chris Stapleton, just blew up fast. I swear it was just three or so years ago I saw him play the Bluebird, now the Pepsi Center. That place sucks, but I am still going to go, have to. Agreed. I saw Stapleton lat wee...

Re: Sturgill Simpson Thread

Dates for the Sturgill/Childers tour are out, Sturgill shared a poster on IG last night that listed them. Tickets go on sale on Nov 8th, no word yet on venues or ticket prices. I'm hoping to make both the Lexington & Louisville shows, especially since Lex is at the beginning of the tour in Feb and ...

Re: Sturgill Simpson Thread

Timing, and subject material. Childers' subject material is a little more universal and (I guess) uplifting? for lack of a better term. Like Cole said, there's a big body count in Chris Knight's music. It's just tougher, more hard scrabble, and at the end of the day appeals to a smaller demographic...

Re: AOTW - 11/18/13 - Turnpike Troubadours

Great show last night in Lawrence. Band was real tight, Evan definitely looked on point and they all seemed to be connecting well together. So hopefully there is no discourse within the band. Only complaint was the set was short...I am going to have to go back and check my other TT set lists to comp...

Re: AOTW - 11/18/13 - Turnpike Troubadours

I'm getting married in two weeks and the plan is to boogie from the wedding straight to Pelham, Tn for a TT's show. It hasn't been cancelled yet, but I'm far from optimistic. Evan Felker is definitely my favorite songwriter under the age of 45. I have lots of trouble with most of the big Americana ...

Re: AOTW - 11/18/13 - Turnpike Troubadours

If I were RC Edwards, I’d be thinking real hard about cutting ties with Felker. The guy is brilliant, but he needs to sort himself out. I’d pay the other guys $30 a night to play fuckin covers. Tough to cut ties with Felker...I get your point though. Friend of mine saw them in Omaha on the 14th. Sa...

Re: Setlist (or lack thereof) question

We talked to Jay before the Thalia show and he mentioned that the band had 40 or 50 songs practiced. Of course we asked to play one that wasn’t currently in rotation. Also I noticed there was a sheet taped to Patterson’s monitor during set up at Thalia, not saying it was a set list but the roadie wa...

I have never known of Surgill to say he isnt a country singer. At least not exactly like that. He said he wasn't sure that was what he was because all music is basically soul music to him or something along those lines. He might have said it but I didn't know he did. I do know he has always distanc...
