Re: dbt track # 89 DRAG THE LAKE CHARLIE

Is it just me or do you wish they went back to more this character driven song rather than the social commentary stuff?

I loved living in the misery with imaginary strangers, but these things that I been singing with are getting all too real.

Re: Woodstock, NY (The Colony)

It was one of those shows you hear about after the fact and then wish you could get to one like that. After getting the shorter set at SPAC, it hit the spot. Thinking acoustic and small venue my brother decided to bring along my 11 year-old nephew for his first concert. As the story goes when he was...

I think Cooley could do better but...

Cooley singing "You Got Another" before Annette would be interesting. If you ever got Isbell singing it, it would be jaw dropping, like Pat sitting in with him and playing Annette.

DId they ever do those two songs together?

Matt on KKK. Much more talking. Great covers. My favorite part was Jay breaking a string, trying to play the riff, giving up and just dancing instead, finally just sat on a speaker and drank until he got the guitar back. Pat swinging the mic during Free World. Matt with a dance move leaving the stag...

No breaks and almost 30 songs. It was crisp. Cooley introduced Gravity by saying it was as scientific a song he has for the science march today, but that was about all the banter. Any veterans of RSD have a plan? We know they will play a store. There is more than one near the venue. When do you think we will know? How does the info get out? What time would the in store likely happen? I have to imagine Pat will tell us at some point in the show Friday night. Despite being less...

Mt St Helen Keller / Cheap Labor BMI?

I usually just lurk around the site and only post when the DC / Baltimore shows come around. I was wondering if anybody knew, or if there was anything behind, Patterson's songs on AB being copyrighted under Mt St Helen Keller and Cooley's under Cheap Labor? On EO Pat was Pottery Town Songs and Coole...

If I get a vote I'd prefer Angels.

Last two times around here for me PWD featured the front row yelling the chorus into the mic and the other time the Patron passed down the rail.

I agree that you have to tailor it to the person you are making it for. I made one for a buddy that's an artist and has been a punk rocker forever. His initial reaction to DBT was, "I thought that was a hipster band." This was before EO came out. Deeper in Sinkhole Where the Devil Dont Sta...

I don't post a lot here but this a tune that sticks with me. If you are a father with daughters it really clicks something deep. It does not open with one of those Cooley lines that makes your ears perk up, but that first verse makes me visualize a friend of mine and I can see my own dad standing on...

I have time to adjust. I just wish I did not find my way to this board only when they are a musician short at 930. I would be fine with just moving Jay forward on stage on trucking on. The other is still Cooley, Pat, and Jason do their solo things for a year, and then tour as the Truckers for a year...

To go two years in a row losing a band member days before the NYE run can't be good for business. The 930 club could not be too excited as it is not a positive selling point trying to move the last of those tickets for 12/30 and 12/31. This only opens the door to dream of the return of Isbell, hope ...

Cooley-

He was mad at me and you
As he tied that chain to the front of my car and pulled me out of that ditch that we slid into

Hood-
If we get the van out of the ditch before morning ain't nobody got to know what I done
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun

Re: Webisode 11:Eyes Like Glue – Daddy Learned to Fly

It's rare to listen to a studio album start to finish, as I do with TBTD. I think this is the first disk I have ever had that I listen to start through- and then let it start right back over again, like TBDT from Glue to Daddy.
