Re: 2014 dates thru May
On the ticketing web site, they originally listed a 4/11 Crossroads KC show that has since been removed. Has anyone heard any whispers on whether this will be added later or whether the deal maybe fell through?

Re: 1 Million Plays on Pandora = 17$
Older musicians make less from streaming services because the rights to online streaming didn't exist when they signed their contracts with the labels. David Lowery got screwed by his label when they negotiated a poor rate for the artist with Pandora. I don't see how any other point could be taken a...

Re: Albums of the year
Why would the word "objective" ever appear in the same sentence as music opinion? There's really no such thing as an objective opinion and there's really no such thing as an evaluation of music that's not an opinion.

I just heard about that Elephant Micah album from a Patterson list, but that's one of my favorite albums for sure.
That movie was amazing.

Murrow, by the way, definitely had a point of view. Two good articles about the myth of Murrow being "objective."

I'm pissed that Rubblebucket no-showed and Lucero had to play later, so I woke up to get to the park by 11:00 for nothing. Then lunch at Pizzetta 211 ran long and I missed all of Lucero. Great year, though. The crowds weren't bad at all.

Why would I think David Lowery is an asshole just because he picks on interns and kowtows to Neil Young? He's obviously really brave and cool.

Hilarious that Lowery types a 50,000 word screed calling an entire generation moral failures when the speaker is a non-famous, young girl with no clout but he apologizes and says he respectfully disagrees when it's Neil Young.

Yeah, I'm not sure, but I think he also said that was the first time he had played that song live. I didn't take the video, but I really think he asked the audience to film the song with their iphones and upload it. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, I guess.

Excited for yours plus the Heartless Bastards, Lumineers, Buddy Miller, Dwight Yoakam, and Rubblebucket. Tiny Television is definitely one of my favorite local bands. Check them out if you can.
