Making Madison arrangements now. As much as I miss my German friends and the delicious, German beer it is good to be back in the States for DBT.

Re: Dubuque, IA 10/30/2013

While last night was the shortest rock show I've been to it may have been the most intense set list I've seen from top to bottom. And throw in the best version of Wild Horses I've seen (I've seen Mick, Keith and the boys do it 7 times), it made for an epic show. I got to meet Iowan, I would have lik...

Re: Dubuque, IA 10/30/2013

If anyone is driving and not drinking I could use a ride from the Grand Harbor to one of the pre-show taverns. I'm allergic to car keys and beer, every time I mix them I break out in handcuffs. Or perhaps, DBQ has a capable cab service. The hotel or casino might have a shuttle service available. Gr...

Re: Dubuque, IA 10/30/2013

The Julien had a lot of potential. That said the shag carpet, pathetic beds and ridiculous odor left a lasting impression. The Grand Harbor suits me a bit better, it has a nice quiet little lounge where I can start the evening off properly.

Great hotel deal for the show.Looks like they have a autographed piece that goes to someone who books there. m Have they completely renovated the Julien in the last 10 years. I stayed there about 10 years ago while in town for business, everything about the place was tired. It was like going back i...

I got up at 3 am to watch it. I'm not saying that we didn't help ku tremendously but the last minute of regulation was complete horse shit. I'm still pissed, I've been drinking beer most of the afternoon to try to temper it some.

Wow, Jagger still has it and Ronnie is very sharp, getting off the booze and smokes has done him well. A very good show, I ho...

"Walk a Mile in My Shoes," by Joe South. I think Cooley could hit a home run with this. I also think Hood could do a fine job with "Games People Play."

Re: Rock and Roll Cage Match 3: Elvis vs. Johnny Cash

I'm probably going to get killed for this but I have thought about this for a long time. I truly believe that Elvis is the greatest live performer of all time and only Mick Jagger comes close to being in the same category. That said, because Elvis wasn't a songwriter, he helped to create everything ...

It always reminds me of the last time we went to Thanksgiving at my wife's parents' house. After one calamity after another as we were sitting down for dinner, I looked at her and said, "Don't you wish we were high right now?" My wife has never really been "into that" but without...

Rusty, Germany seems like an interesting place to live for a coupla years. Polka music is the bomb. Frauleins & strudel & beer, too. Do they serve the beer warm ('coz I've heard they do)? I hope not. I've had a warm Becks and it was nasty. Are you in East or West Germany (or is there a diff...
