Re: This story is begging for a Patterson song to be written

The story in the news lately about South Carolina lawyer Alex Mudaugh is one that Patterson has already written a song about...sort of. I first heard about it from my wife and my immediate reply was, "The Truckers have a song about that!" One article of many from Google: South Carolina lawyer Alex M...

Re: Where will first DBT show be when things open again?

Ooh, I like the Red Rocks suggestion. That's in my neck of the woods. I want to say they played there in maybe 2018 or 2019 with two other acts - I think Tedeschi & Trucks and someone else. I probably should have gone but I hadn't seen DBT in person yet (gasp!) and didn't want to see them as an open...

Re: DBT spotting

Very cool. Stephen King has done similar things. One was a character named Dickey Betts in Rita Hayworth And Shawshank Redemption . Another was a mention of fictional character Jack Reacher in Under The Dome . And in another book, perhaps 11/22/63 , someone enters a bar and describes the scene with ...

Cocaine & Rhinestones podcast - country music history

I recently discovered this podcast from a recommendation at the Fender Telecaster guitar forum (http://www.tpdri.com) and thought I'd pass it along here. So far, I've heard the two Buck Owens & Don Rich podcasts and the episodes about Ralph Mooney and Tom T. Hall. Good stuff! I'm starting at the beg...

I'm sad to hear this, but what a life he had. I just read his wife is still alive at age 100. Too bad my local cable company has to keep playing games with Turner Classic Movies. The latest demand from them for us to pay even more for a sports channel package to keep TCM was the final straw in the l...

DBT - Englewood, Colorado - January 17, 2020

I took these pictures with my iPhone 7 Plus. I took many more than these but was disappointed with how most of them came out. It was a great show in a neat old venue with a cool crowd. The crowd picture below was before the show started - the place was packed pretty full later. No opening act. https...

New Who! h2IN8wYqQ6E Seems like we could do a "Who's On First" routine with that. "Who has a new album coming out?" "Yes." "Oh, Yes is one of my favorite bands. Wonder who is on bass for them now?" "No, The Who!" "Who?" "Yes!" " Fragile is my favorite." "No, you don't understand..."

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

Just bought my ticket to see Todd Snider with special guest Ramblin' Jack Elliott at the Boulder Theater (in Colorado, of course) on October 10. I wanted to mention this in case any Snider fans in the area didn't know about it. I wasn't aware of the show until I went to his website to see if he's co...

I've heard Grand Funk Railroad's radio hits for decades now, but I've never owned any of their albums. However, I've recently stumbled upon some of their deeper tracks and I like what I'm hearing. Here's some hard rockin' power trio classic rock jammage done right, a la live Hendrix or The Who in th...

Thanks for sharing this. I just listened to it through PC speakers in my office at work. It wasn't what I expected (I figured it would be a rock band), but it was more office-friendly than most of DBT's work. Neat song selection.
