I'll never forget the first time I saw the Muscle Shoals documentary. I was at some friends' house in Seattle and the part with Percy Sledge came on and one of the women busted into tears. He was powerful indeed. Here's the clip. RIP.

So My Morning Jacket is playing at the Georgia Theatre. To say that I am in doesn't do it justice. Hope to see some of y'all there. Hey man did you get a ticket? Both the Presale and standard sale sold out in seconds. I got shut out. If you know of any extras please look me up. Can't believe they'r...

A new brewery opened up downtown since last year's homecoming. It's a block north of the 40 watt. I haven't been yet but I like the beers I've had. The tour schedule and other info can be found here: http://www.creaturecomfortsbeer.com There's also terrapin brewery which is about a 10 minute drive f...

Homecoming Party - 2015
Hey everybody. We have a space reserved for us for a get together Friday afternoon from 12-5. It'll be a good chance to see all of our old friends and meet some new ones. It's at Transmetropolitan on Clayton St., just a few doors down from the Georgia Theatre. We have the entire upstairs of the rest...

'Patience for the Ride' by Centro-matic. Does anyone know what 'corporate mess' it is referring to? Insurance company greed after a hurricane maybe?

Re: Artist of the Week 11/7/2011 Centro-Matic FINAL TOUR!!
I had the privilege of being there in Athens and it was incredible. Both openers, Thayer Serrano and Dead Confederate were on top of their game. So was Centro-matic, to say the least. I don't know much of their stuff by heart but I've seen them so many times now that I recognize a good bit of their ...

Isbell with John Prine in ATL and Savannah
I've been meaning to post this for a while. I was completely blown away by the Jason/John Prine show at the Fox in Atlanta Oct. 18th. The crowd showed up early for Jason and he got a few ovations that you normally don't see for an opener. You could hear a pin drop during most of his show. It was a b...

They're one of my favorite acts out there today. Their show at ga theatre a few weeks ago blew me away. I agree with Cole and Trym that Peyton Bradford, the former drummer, is definitely missed but they still bring it. Some of the band moved from Athens to Nashville and it seems to have influenced t...

That Grand Canyon was flat out nasty. Matt's bass line took the ending to a new, dark place that blew me away. Great set, crowd and theatre. Benjamin Booker's garage sound was awesome. It's too bad they didn't get his sound right til the last couple of songs. It started a good night of loud, dirty, ...
