Re: Polar Vortex wtf???
Shaping up to be an absolutely bonkers weather night in the OKC area. My weather nerd ass is going to have two TV's on watching two of the OKC stations all night. These days are like their Super Bowl down there. I'm locked in too. Barnsdall/Bartlesville storm looks horrific. Looking like these next...

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
they should have had Arik Roper do that one... what a garish poster. That's what the Stones are these days. I think they need to drop "Sympathy for the Devil" off the warhorse segment. Keith's solo made me sad. I'm glad I'm going but I don't think I would've travelled for a show. Probably the last ...

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
Teenage Fanclub last nite at the Paradise in Boston. They were very good; better than I remember when I saw them in London a long time ago. They did this shtick at the end of the main set essentially saying that there would be a 4 song encore so don't think this is the real end of the set. My guess...

Re: Rolling Stones 2024 tour
I’ll be there. Gary Clark jr opens Houston How was the show? As the first show of the tour you could see they were a bit rusty, especially the guitar changes between Ronnie and keef. Some of the songs were a bit sloppy at the start, but they played right through it. But it was the stones man. They ...

Re: Rolling Stones 2024 tour
Did anyone notice that Widespread Panic is opening the next tour….and that AARP is sponsoring?!?!? They're only opening one show. Different openers for each one I think. Tyler Childers (!) in Orlando. Kaleo, which the internet describes as "an Icelandic blues rock band," is opening Philly which is ...

Re: Artist of the Week 04/18/11 - Neil Young
"Down By the River" as the 5th song in the set? I guess Neil has classics to burn, but still that seems to be a little cavalier as a matter of showmanship. But then, many of you are more familiar w/ Neil's approach to performing than I am. Starting with Cortez is pretty bold & I think new. Sets a h...

he needs no assistance. he cranked out three high kicks in just "Romeo Surgeon" and unfortunately I had the wrong lens on and missed 'em all. the new song sounds great, it's been while since I've been this excited for a new GBV record. Tim, GBV used 1 of your pictures on an email regarding presales...

Re: Books Thread
I was not aware that there was a Lee Child/Reacher book that I hadn't read, so I reluctantly picked up The Secret which following recent custom is co-authored w/ Lee's brother Andrew. As expected it was nowhere near the quality of the early, solely written by Lee, novels. I suspect (but don't know)...

Finally added on to my Cooleybird last week. Ready for the Rock Show in LA. Going to add some more Wes Freed things around these to fill in the space. https://i.ibb.co/JmpVDq6/IMG-9314.jpg Pretty cool. I'm old & don't have tattoos but these are worthy. I have enough pain in my life so I don't want ...

When I saw Deadly Game by Michael Caine on the library shelf I asked myself is that the Michael Caine? The answer was yes, so curiosity piqued, I grabbed it. Kudos to him for branching out and for apparently writing the book on his own. As for the result, meh. I liked the main characters. The plot ...

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
I saw Particle Kid in a tiny club on Thursday. Phenomenal band! I can see why Neil Young picked Micah Nelson to be in Crazy Horse. The rest of the band are no slouches either. This was the second time I've seen them & they're seriously moving up the favorite band list.

Re: Fisherman’s village music festival
Question for the wiser ones. With an 11 pm start time would you expect a full length show? My wife and I are thinking of flying down from anchorage. Haven’t seen them at a festival and am wondering what to expect? Thanks Anyone else going? Everett is pretty rugged in places. Last time I checked the...

Re: Books Thread
Gregg Hurwitz's Lone Wolf is one of the best entries in his Orphan X series and a welcome return to form after what I thought were a couple of lesser efforts. The depiction of the protagonist's struggle to deal with and be a part of "the normal world" is one of the best examples of the evolution of...
