Re: What's your fav. DBT one liner from a song?

"It's the same one that I see, being ripped up off the ground and wrapped around me" I keep coming back to the beauty of that sentence/phrase. It's just so visual and serves the song so perfectly. It's a completely understated line, which is why it's one of the ones that hits the hardest &...

Re: ATHENS 2012

So I lurk more than I post nowadays and I used to really enjoy participating in the DBT Tracks threads - I should make more of an effort. BUT I made the effort to get my ass down to Athens for the second year in a row and reacquainted myself with the 3DDers I've met and even met a few more. It was g...

Re: Boston Review & Photos

Thanks fellas, I actually had a little trouble coming up with anything worthwhile (I thought) for this one. I thought the interview turned out well but the review is just "meh" but I liked the way the last paragraph came about. Thanks for reading. I'm praying DBT comes up to Boston and the...

Boston Review & Photos

Hey all - MySecretBoston just posted up my brief review of the Boston show (where I was able to spend some quality time with the lovely Penny Lane) and photos by my good friend Mike. Check it out - hope you dig it. And if you haven't already, check out the interview I did with Jason (there's a link ...

Re: My Attempt At A One Disc DBT Compilation

It's an impossible task but that's a real nice compilation and a good one for somebody who may want a good overview of DBT. I've never done it, should give it a try to see what I come up with.

I thought that was a great set and the new tunes are sounding good live. The highlight for me was a reworked (at least since I've last seen it) version of Goddamn Lonely Love.

Thanks for the kind words, all. If you clicked on this today - just know the site is down for routine maintenance but will be up soon. Later this week we're going to have a review and photo gallery of the Boston show as well.

My Interview with Jason

Hey all - I had the opportunity to interview Jason this past Tuesday. He was a great interview, engaging, funny - very easy going. He offered for me to call him if I couldn't get a ticket to the show (I was able to). I'm a fan, so it was really a pleasure to talk to him and really cool of him to be ...

Re: DBT Track #41 -- 72 (this highway's mean)

Easily one of my favorite Cooley songs. Just great cutting lyrics that give insight into a feeling of being stuck and hoping to find something else. I love these lyrics and his delivery: It's the same one that I see being ripped up off the ground and wrapped around me Don't let it fool you this high...

Based on your Cooley interview, and the fact that Patterson seems to be much more talkative, I'm confident it's gonna be a great read.

Good work and like Beantownbubba said, that's probably the longest Cooley interview I've ever read. The piece had a very nice & natural flow to it. Very well done.

Re: DBTs Sacrilege: Guest Producers?

Actually Rubin has little to do with the "sound" of the albums he produces. Read just about any interview with anybody he's recorded and they will tell you he does very little except show up and "consult", tell them to play this, don't play that, work on this, that's fine, etc. ...

Really?

Re: Athens January 13, 14 & 15 2011

I almost got my head took off for throwing a beer bottle into a trashcan in Nashville during a song; the loud clank inspired the band playing to stop and eyefuck me and the whole crowd to yell insults at me... I guess it was disrespectful, but it was my first time at a gig like that and I didn't th...

Re: Athens January 13, 14 & 15 2011

Very rarely do you go to a rock concert and not have a bunch of people talking way too much all the way through it. Nature of the beast. Sometimes you gotta a) give the annoyed glare or b) just move. But it is a night out for a lot of folks and not everyone cares to hang on every note & word of ...

Re: DBT to Play Jack White's Joint.vinyl will result!

I think it's cool that Jack White is producing the live record and I'm certainly buying one if I can get my hands on it. I also know that JW has enough fans that if he endorses something or says "check this out" there are more than enough people that actually will. This is a big annoucemen...

At Nucci's space I asked Patterson, "SRO tonight?" He laughed and says, "no, man. that takes a lot of preparation" and then went on to say "maybe" they'd do it sometime but not in the midst of a new album and all that. I told him how he said he'd play it in 2011 and th...

Maybe what you need's for someone to send you flowers Someone strong and mean who can prove he has the power to show you more than charm and take you on your way to where you want to be at the end of the day and it breaks my heart in two to know it ain't meant to be but, it ain't me. Re: Athens January 13, 14 & 15 2011

Mental note: send an email or something to the kind folks in Atlanta and Athens about the wonders of sand and salt, apparently this is not something they know about. (I kid because I love, but seriously, there was almost no sand or salt on the roads down there which led to the seriously bad icy roa...
