Re: The Neverending Thread for Political Shit

Perhaps that is more of a rural California thing. Having decisions made by LA & Bay area voters gets annoying. It leads to laws and regulations that make no sense out here in farm country, and even less for the mountain dwellers. ....As Patterson has noted more than once, 40% of Alabamians often do...

Re: What's Everyone Drinking?

Bob will remember RedCelt from the last couple of HC beer shares. He's the guy who showed up this year with some mighty fine home-brew and was around to help finish off that cup of bad watermelon rum that I insisted we all had to finish instead of dumping into a storm drain. He shipped me this for C...

On a related note, the tv episode "Joe Pera Reads You the Church Announcements" hit home for me (Adult Swim, available on streaming). It captures the magic of that very first time you heard a song/band that you instantly knew would be with you the rest of your life.

Florida will upset the Tide in a "Thrilla in Atlanna" 47 - 46 This just seems like such a strange score. Anybody know off hand if there's ever been a game that's ended in this score, at least on the D1 or pro level? BTB's question made me curious: https://www.espn.com/college-football/game?gameId=3...

Huge bonus having the Dexateens show along with DBT this year. Homecoming 2020 was the last time I saw a live show---looking forward to reliving Thursday night over again!

I went to 3 different stores on RSD and could not find this. I was Xmas shopping for records for my son and saw it. $55.99. I needed to get the cash figured out. Went back the next day and it was gone. Just missed it.
Seasick Records in Birmingham still shows it in stock and they ship.

Re: DBT Quarantine Livestreams

not loving the Cooley direction. I wasn't wild about 72 from this show the first time through, but liked it more on second listen. I feel like that song is a slow burn slog on a stifling humid day when it just hurts to move any faster. Speeding up the tempo takes away from that a little for me, but...

I skipped the Cooley show live to watch the debate with my wife and did first listen tonight. Thought I'd make a post about it since no one else has. The show was low key, slow burn fantastic. Great setlist. We all have our own favorites, and he hit most of what most folks would consider favorites o...

I love Seger. But listen to (song) Night Moves and (song) The River back to back. Yeah, maybe there’s a dig, but it’s about not being able to see all the possibilities.

That line in Sarah’s Flame reminds me of Free Bird/Sounds Better in the Song.

I was expecting this album to sound more like a collection of ...

it was a lot different hiking with a full pack vs day pack, though. Just finished my third time through. Patterson's last three shows have been off the charts. This show was legendary both in song and story-telling. So Patterson played the Betamax Guillotine show tonight. If you didn't buy the show, you don't want to miss it. Second listen tonight: I keep going back to that first song. It definitely needs to end up on album at some point. Gorgeous and sad. Sounds like good times, Beaverdam. The past few years, I keep saying I'm going to get my canoes out, but it never happens. Fall through spring these days get spent hiking. In summer, I'm always catching up on all the house stuff I didn't do during hiking season. So I got two boats that ain't seen th...
