Re: European Tour 2017

I'm just speechless over how good they sounded last night in Gothenburg. They were absolutely killing it. Hardly any talk between songs, just full on rock show for two hours+. Great setlist too and what an ending with Plane/Fuselage...man, I was tearing up! And they have grown into the new songs so...

Re: Shonna & Neff parting ways

Why would DBT take Neff back? He went about quitting in a shiitty unprofessional way. I would be shocked if it ever happened. Yeah, I get that. I didn't happen in the best way but wasn't that infected either from what i gather and time usually heals. They would take him back because he's an awesome...

Re: Shonna & Neff parting ways

I was disappointed when Shonna left. I was more disappointed when Neff left. I'm glad they left now. The current line up kicks ass. Best wishes to both of them. I was ambivalent when Shonna left, but totally bummed when Neff quit too. The current lineup does in fact kick ass, but I don't think Neff...

Re: 5/10/2014 Dublin, IE, Vicar Street

It was a rocking show. They played fantastic and Jay was absolutely KILLING IT! Great to hear Love Like This and Box of Spiders. The only negative things I can think of Cooley was forgetting the words to MUEO and that the show was WAY too short. Bit of a bummer since we travelled from Sweden and thi...

Rank Your DBT Studio Albums!

I'm sure this has been done to death here, but I'm kinda curious to see everybody's lists and also where you'd fit English Oceans in your ranking. So I'll go first. Here's mine; 1.The Big To-Do 2.Southern Rock Opera 3.The Dirty South 4.Brighter Than Creations Dark 5.Decoration Day 6.A Blessing And A...

Re: The Truckers need a new pedal steel player

Totally agree. I would love for them to have a steel player. Preferably someone who could switch between steel and lead guitar. As much as I think Jay has grown in his role, the current line up is in my humble opinion not the strongest lead-wise.

Re: Are DBT tickets too cheap?

Considering I just shelled out 900 dollars for me and my girl to fly out and see the boys in Dublin, I'd say they could charge me a couple of extra dollars if they came through Stockholm.

Yeah, she seemed pretty detached by that point and those ass hats heckling her probably made her choice that much easier. When I met the dude, and I put the pieces together I chastised him for being the ass hole that made Shonna quit. Bad form. FYI - Shonna didn't quit the band. She was fired? Woul...

A great read. Thanks! My favorite DBT album. In my mind one of the greatest rock albums ever! Great songwriting and perfectly executed. Sounds a little "hot"/compressed but who gives a shit when you have masterpieces like "Daddy Learned", "First Night", "Birtday Bo...

Dreck When Walter Went Crazy I am not blasting you for your opinion, as Cole said, no one hears things exactly the same way. But, damn. This song is pretty much classic Patterson to me. Yup. I mean, I'm not all that crazy about the new album as a whole but WWWC to me is up there with his best. Long...

Not blasphemy at all. I think they're sloppy and rather un-melodic, especially compared to Cooley's other work, but there's no right/wrong answer Zip, I love you man, but you say some of the craziest shit! First of all, if you don't love the solos and riffs in Jimmy Loud, then you're basically tras...

Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread

Their performance on Conan the other night erased most of my doubts about the current DBT lineup. They were so energetic and played great. I think material-wise English Oceans is one of the most consistent DBT albums. Yet it doesn't completely hold up as an album for me. Mainly because I feel the pe...

Well, I think they have the potential to be as great as ever, really. What they need, IMHO is a great player like Isbell or Neff who can sort of tie the sack musically. Not necissarely a "hot picker" but someone to challenge Hood and Cooley musically to be the very best they can be. They ...
