Re: James McMurtry Thread

Lyrically, his songs require the listener to think and concentrate, things that most mainstream Americans seem to have a hard time with. Plus, he seems kind of surly and I'd think that he's not all that into promoting himself. You are so right about that. His music is rich, and has substance. What ...

I bought a 2002 Outback new but only had it for three years (I needed something bigger). I loved it! Mine never got up in miles but I had friends with Subarus into the 100ks. I think they were mostly original owners though. I say keep the Civic and find a friend with a 4WD. Too bad the number of my...

I jsut saw him on October 5th here in SLC. It was fantastic.

I'm just starting to dig deep into his stuff but he is very, very talented.

My two favorite songs of his at the moment are without a doubt "Rachel's Song" and "No More Buffalo".

Simply awesome.

Hey all, So...here's my deal. I currently drive a 2003 Honda Civic EX. It's been a fantastic car...truly the most reliable vehicle ever and I'm a little weary at the thought of parting with it. It has the higher end of 92k on it and I've almost paid it off. I'm kind of a recreational guy...I like to...

On the topic of Noah and Melo, I think the reason Chicago wants to keep Noah is that he is really their only dominant big man. Looking at the roster, they only have one reserve for the billed center position and it is Ömer Aşık from Turkey. Never heard of the guy or seen him play. Perhaps Chicago is...

I just recently saw KISS. They're the epitomy. I mean, I already knew they were that kind of band, but I was shown all over again how far they've actually gone. They actually had the crowd repeating "Wal-Mart" in unison. Pretty sad. If there was an tongue-in-cheek to Paul Stanley's shout o...
