Re: Jason on Twitter is a thing of beauty

Jason was going off a bit yesterday (rightfully) about how every review of Amanda's new record mentions him and his career. He really wants her to stand on her own, and is annoyed that they can't just talk about her. Not unlike every reviewer mentioning Skynyrd in the reviews of DBT for about a dec...

Re: Isbell 2 Nights in New Orleans

Hah. I did not hear that. We must have been in different spots or the beers affected my hearing...... We were on the left side floor, about halfway to the stage. Our friends in the balcony heard her too, as did a random chick I ran into in Austin last week. Crazy. She was even yelling it out during...

Re: Isbell 2 Nights in New Orleans

I caught the Saturday night show which was awesome. Josh Ritter also kicked some a s s . Jason's vocals and guitar playing were both really strong. Set lists for both shows and review below: http://www.offbeat.com/news/review-photos-jason-isbells-optimism-shines-brightly-joy-theater It was a great ...

I don't have one, but what a great story! We were at that show, my first to see at the Ryman.

Good luck in your search! Cheers!

I wonder how many they actually allocated for the presale, and how many will be available when tickets go on sale tomorrow.

Jason headlining Red Rocks on 9/14/16

I know the seating capacity of Red Rocks isn't much different than 4 nights at the Ryman, but this seems like a major accomplishment. We bought our presale tickets this morning, 9 months in advance and 1200 miles away, both of which are records for me.

Anyone here planning on going?

Re: Isbell ... 4 Nights at the Ryman

Got home late last night from our Nashville trip. Friday night was spectacular, and being on the first row was utterly amazing. My friend ended up with Jason's pick that he threw out at the end of the show, and asked the tech for Jason's setlist, and he obliged. Here are some pics: https://scontent-...

It is one of my favorites. I've always figured the narrator is a female, but have gone back and forth about whether the "teenage girl" is the narrator or her mother.

Re: Isbell ... 4 Nights at the Ryman

I'm getting so excited, it's tough to focus at work! We will be making the trip from SW Louisiana, about a 10.5 hour drive. I've only been to Nashville once, two years ago, to see Jason's first Ryman show. That was a truly memorable show, too!

We're staying at the Renaissance almost right next to the Ryman. Out of my price range too, but we're doing it anyway. Kids don't need Christmas presents, do they?

Re: Jason Isbell - Something More Than Free 7/17

In other news, I Googled Hudson Commodore yesterday. It's a car. Maybe that isn't news to anyone else, but hearing the song the first dozen times, I was picturing a boat. And a Dellahaye 135 is also a car . One thing you CAN say about Isbell songs, love em or loathe em at least they're always build...

This is great. I love when they pay tribute like that. I was at The Ryman last October when they played "Sunshine of Your Love" in honnor of Jack Bruce that day he died as well. It's cool when they do that. When I saw him in Baton Rouge in 2012, he did something similar, though much more subtle. A ...

Re: Jason Isbell - Something More Than Free 7/17

As far as production goes, I'll point out the difference between "lo-fi" (Dexateens' Sunsphere, for example) vs. "recorded live in studio" (most of DBT's records, etc.) I like the live-in-studio sound. Most of the new Houndmouth is clearly recorded this way, so Cobb isn't against it. Southeastern d...

Re: Isbell ... 4 Nights at the Ryman

When presale started, I somehow managed to snag 4 of the VIP package tickets for the Friday show, but couldn't get any tickets whatsoever for Saturday. When regular tickets went on sale this morning, I got 4 for the Saturday show, but they are some of the "seating with limited view" tickets...as far...

It's from Bob Dylan's "Boots of Spanish Leather".
