Re: Last Movie Watched

I just watched High Fidelity. I’m kind of surprised I’d never seen the film previously considering that it’s 20 years old!

Re: Flora Bama bar

So we’re back in Daulphin Island; the island is pretty isolated and a good way to enjoy the beach but stay away from people. Since the whole family is crispy from the sun, we got in the car this morning and took a ferry across from the bay and just drove. We ended up close to Florida, and decided to...

I have started Better Call Saul in the past six months/year or so, but it has yet to reel me in the way that Breaking Bad did.

Sara’s Flame immediately made me think about Once They Banned Imagine...something in the chords or intonation in Cooley’s voice. I’m really enjoying the album; it made for a nice treat this year. Sea Island Lonely is not thematically deep like many of the album’s songs, but I love the sound, and it ...

I ordered my wife and our friend the new RBG/DBT tee shirt. The shirt looks really cool!

I sent the link to a buddy whose wife is an attorney and RBG is her professional role model, and he ordered the shit for her.

Now all of the wives in our friend group will have matching shirts!

I’ve shared with many of you that I lived in an extremely desolate county (Wise) in Virginia, which bordered Kentucky, for a couple of years after g...

I lay in bed this morning while my wife read and the kids were quiet. I listened the the new album from start to finish. The fiddle work is amazing! I then listened to part of Purgatory. The line below from “Feathered Indians” still gets me ever time, “If I’d known she was religious, then I wouldn’t...

Re: Homecoming 2020! Feb 13-15

I wasn’t sure where best to stick this post... Today my wife left April’s Southern Living magazine for me in everyone’s favorite reading spot, the bathroom. The issue has the “South’s Best” rankings and includes an article on Athens as “Best College Town”. Patterson is quoted at the end of the artic...

I don't think that Hamilton is whiskey-soaked enough for a lot of people here My family is so obsessed with Hamilton. My wife and kids (daughter 6 years and son 9 years) watch repeatedly. When in the van we listen to the soundtrack. I guess this is payback for when I caught the DBT bug over a decad...

Flea, that place looks amazing. I love the Asheville area but haven't been in years. Years ago my work blocked 3DD, and I'm rarely on a computer at home, so I just view our website on my phone. I’m sorry to hear this. The song “Lone Pine Hill,” got me on Pandora or a similar program years ago. I would work out in front of our lone smart tv in our old house.
