Re: dbt tracks # 49 - The Three Great Alabama Icons

The last time somebody called me “young man” was 1999! I’m going to tell my old lady...and see where it gets me. I’ll report back in three minutes!!! I inadvertently qualified my age and the length of time since my internship with the phrase "back when dinosaurs roamed the earth!" That is funny, you...

Re: dbt tracks # 49 - The Three Great Alabama Icons

My apologies to Patterson for my unintentional plagiarism. I am getting a new practicum student/intern, and I was explaining navigating between locations years ago when I was intern without a cell phone map program, and I inadvertently qualified my age and the length of time since my internship with...

Re: The Neverending Thread for Political Shit

My family is obsessed with the musical Hamilton; I thought that it was good, but a few months ago they seemingly watched the musical and listened to the songs constantly.

Today the song “You Ain’t Never Gonna be President now...” has been stuck in my head all day!

What a great story and connection to the song! Thank you for sharing. If you are new to 3DD, please don’t be a stranger; we are a pretty friendly group!!! Ok, bear with me on this, I promise it all ties together. I had an epiphany tonight. We live in Madison, AL (Think Huntsville) and we were going ...

Re: Dexateens -lots of info here

Neil Armstrong and the Arrival Fallacy I have had a moderate to severe Dexateens obsession since February. My symptoms were starting to improve, then the live record was released and symptoms resumed with a vengeance. One of the songs with which I was and an most captivated is “Neil Armstrong;” it a...

I just finished this with my kids, and it is pretty awesome. The movie is so much deeper than I would have expected. Metaphysics and music!

Re: The New OK - 10/2/2020 (Vinyl 12/18)

I just still can't get much into this. Probably the lack of Cooley. I was in the same boat til a week or two ago when I got the CD and put it into heavy rotation in my car. Now I'm on board with it. My kids got me the CD for Christmas, although they wanted the cassette tape so that I could listen i...

Re: Coronavirus - COVID-19

My wife and I individually called the county health department over 200 times at the assigned time on Saturday but never got an answer. I found out today that the phones were out of order and still are. Still, I’m thinking that I should get a vaccine relatively soon! Last night I received an email f...

Re: Coronavirus - COVID-19

Last night I received an email from work explaining that I can sign up and possibly receive a vaccine later today. Only a few vaccines are available today, but if I don’t get one today, I should be able to get one soon. This all seems a little surreal... If I’m able to get a shot today, and Jonicont...

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?

Tv remote is a logical explanation. I only view 3dd from my phone, and a remote would not have been my first guess from the small screen.

Have any of y’all ever heard of a semi-bluegrass band called Southhill Banks.

I saw them at Floydfest a few years ago and really enjoyed them!

Irony.... I just ordered one of the new DBT puzzles for my wife for Christmas. Last February when the picture for the puzzle was taken, I would never have imagined buying a puzzle as a Christmas present for my wife, then a worldwide pandemic began which prompted my wife to start working puzzles. I n...

So my wife works from home, and we’ve been homeschooling our kids. I have listened to Teenage Hallelujah several times, and I’m listening to the live 40 Watt album no...

Homecoming 2021

This time of year, like many of you, I start looking forward to preparing for the annual Athens pilgrimage for Heathens Homecoming. I feel like I should be booking a room somewhere. While the rational side of my brain understands that Homecoming will not happen in 2021 without a miracle, I will grea...

I’m watching the movie Big Stone Gap with Ashley Judd (based on the Adriana Trigiani (?sp?) book. I enjoyed...

Caamp “By and By”

I heard this song on satellite radio and loved it. I had never heard of Caamp, but apparently they played or were/are supposed to play some dates with Trampled By Turtles who I also really enjoy.
