Re: Question for the guitar geeks
I use the Apogee Jam, and I really dig it. Works well for my home recording. The Apogee One has a built in mic and two input/outputs, I believe. Jam is less expensive (maybe a 1/3 of the price) and is a straight in/out connector. After watching the vids you post, I would at least buy the Jam. He has...

Re: Jason in San Diego
I think you should be fine if you arrive around 8:30 or 8:45. I plan on arriving around that time. Will say hello, if I see you. A few of my buddies are also coming, so we may not make it down front.

I'll be there. Really looking forward to it. One of my first DBT shows was at the Belly Up when Jason was still in the band. Will be nice to hear his new material live.

Re: Recommendations for moving to Miami area
Thanks, bubba. This definitely helps. We will likely only be there for a year or two, so are just looking to rent. We do plan on having kids, but not in the amount of time we expect to be in SE FL. Being close to the water would be nice, but no boat involved. Coral Gables is an option and would be g...

Hello, I've been a member of the board for a while, but I don't post often. Honestly, I don't use social media that often, but I am reaching out to this board because I have seen the wonderful community you have created. San Diego 14 Mar
I'll start one for the show. Really looking forward to tonight! It has been quite some time since we last had the RAWK show in San Diego, and quite frankly, I think the last time may have left a bit of a bad taste in the mouth of the band members. While it was an awesome show, some d-bag decided to ...

Re: Quicklists CDXX: Top 5 Albums That Changed Your Life
In chrono order: Motley Crue: Theatre of Pain: I was about 8 years old and revolting against my parents music, you know, Stones, Skynyrd, Rush, Dead, Beatles, etc. I had very young and very hip parents, but I had to rebel before coming back to my senses. I remember making a "guitar" out of...

Alcohol related quotes
Driving to work today, I heard "Too Long in the Wasteland" by James McMurtry. It contains one of my favorite quotes about alcohol: "But whiskey don't make liars, it just makes fools So I didn't mean to say it, but I meant what I said." This lead me to think of other alcohol relat...

I would say just about any Instrumental by Leo Kottke, but here are two of my favorties. By the way, Leo also has one of my favorite album titles, "A Virtuoso is His Own Reward".
And for good measure, a classic instrumental

Black Sheep Boy and The Stage Names are pretty good, but I agree, I find their stuff whiny. I met Will through a mutual friend, and he is kind of an arse. Someone up the thread hit it dead on with "prep school" and "English-major" fans. Not that there is anything wrong with thoug...
