Re: DBT Quarantine Livestreams

Anyone know if these are livestream-only or if they'll be archived on the site? I'd like to see both, but not sure if I can do it in real time.

Re: New Letter From Patterson 1/18/2020

Thanks for this, Patterson. I read it after my turn rocking our little one who’s running a fever this evening. I’m glad she’s going to grow up with your music. See you at Homecoming.

I was thinking about this last night when I couldn't sleep (sad, yes) and I wonder if they're going to tie the Homecoming announcement into the new album announcement. Re: Fox Theatre, Atlanta 9/13

I would have completely, 100% lost my shit during Battleship Chains. That has always been one of those irresistible tunes that I can't listen to and not scream the lyrics. That's exactly what happened to me. As soon as Rick Richards walked onstage, I knew that's where they were going. My friend who...

Re: The Company We Keep- Drive-By Truckers' Homecoming Book

I got a shipment notification a couple days after my book arrived. The book is fantastic, btw. I'm really glad a second run happened. I usually make it to one night of Homecoming. Some years my wife comes with me, other times I roll solo. I tend to be more of a back of the room guy rather than wanti...

The third Highwaymen album is where it all finally came together. That one's just flat-out good from start to finish.

Back to the topic at hand, I like everything I've heard from The Highwomen so far and I'm looking forward to the record. I'm also a big fan of puns, so I'm all for the name.

Re: Fox Theatre, Atlanta 9/13

That's weird, they made a big announcement about adding RR to the bill, but you're right, I just checked the FB and Fox page for the event. He's not there and it's not on his website. Nothing against RR, but it wouldn't bother me a bit if we got longer sets from DBT and DNC and then a superjam to ro...

I don't think Warner is with DNC anymore. Laur Joamets has been their guitarist for the last couple years. I really like the songs I've heard from their new album that's coming up.

Never been to the Marquee club, I'd like to check it out. If you decide not to go that route, Edgard Proof & Provision, in the basement of the Georgian Terrace hotel across the street, is our usual pre-show spot. Really good cocktails and food. Gets pretty crowded closer to showtime, but a fun place...

No "Scotty Doesn't Know?" What the hell? I will say that Shea Serrano, the co-writer of that article, is really funny and insightful. His books on rap and basketball are a blast.

Bought tickets for Friday night, but if everything goes according to schedule, we should have a one-month old around that time. Actually being able to go is a whole different mountain that I'll see if I can climb as the day approaches.

Atlanta date for this tour announced yesterday, July 14th at the Fox. Tickets on sale this Friday. My last chance to see the band before the arrival of our next generation fan, so I think we'll be in. Congrats!! Thank you! Excited and nervous and all that good stuff. Tickets were a little more than...

Re: Isbell Memorial Day post-game show at Suntrust Park

So, because of last weekend's rainout, they're now playing a double header that day and Jason's playing after the 7:10 game instead of the afternoon game. A little bit of a bummer, but oh well. More info here. I went ahead and emailed the Braves yesterday and they exchanged my afternoon tickets for ...

Isbell Memorial Day post-game show at Suntrust Park

Braves post-game shows tend to be a mixed bag, but sometimes they come through with a winner--Run-DMC, Chris Stapleton, Avett Brothers. Now this dude.

Always safe to assume that there's a law about pretty much everything. Which is why it's important to be resourceful and creative and we are nothing if not a resourceful and creative group. I grew up on Smokey & The Bandit, I've been training my whole life for this. Y'all please just don't drink it...

I was wondering about that too. Hoping it might be available to-go at the merch table, but I don't know if there are laws about that kind of thing.

If you do the Broadway bars, Robert's Western World is the one to go to. There's also a fantastic exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame right now on Dylan & Cash recording together and all the session players who rose to prominence around that time. Also, the Johnny Cash Museum ends with an exhi...

Something I realized at the Atlanta show this summer: there's no way to time a beer/bathroom break at a Tom Petty show without missing a good song. I was standing in line for beer refills and couldn't quite make out what I was missing. I got back and asked my wife what song it was. "That one about w...

I can't remember the last DBT show aside from maybe HC that Lee wasn't in the crowd for. I've gotten as accustomed to seeing him at shows as I have the usual suspects. Always goes out of his way to say hey as well; I'd think the world of him even if he wasn't behind some of the most unique, eloquen...
