Looking for the Drive-By Cooley show

I lost all of my DBT and Isbell boots and truckers trying to find my favorites on here. Can any one direct me to the show where Patterson was sick, and Cooley and Shonna led the entire gig. Thanks.

Re: Cooley, Hood and Isbell together for Terry Pace Benefit

A few newer hotels in the area. Shouldn't be too much of an issue for a Sunday night. The Marriott on the river is excellent, but there is a Hampton Inn downtown that is around 2 miles from the theater.

Row BB in the pit. Really wish Langhorne was opening this show as well.

Re: Nashville 11/10

I thought it was a great show, but not in the same category of the 2 Cannery shows from February 2012. Love hearing new songs, but the unfamiliarity works against the gig being an all-timer.

If you need a good breakfast the next day, go check out Miss Polly's on Beale. Go with the chicken and waffles. Can't wait to go back.

I know that Whisper was around back in 2004 when I saw Jason and Shonna play an accoustic gig. It ended being a bonus track for Sirens.

May have been the worst DBT show out of my 15 or so I've seen. Could have to do with following the Hold Steady in full Founding Fathers garb.

Re: Neff Interview (I guess he had to go)

perhaps some of his stuff was taken out of context...and it's not like there are a lot of quotes from Neff in that article. Not only that, the guy got his facts wrong. while Neff didn't "officially" join until 2006, when Hood invited him in to replace the just–departed Jason Isbell. We we...

This thread goes along with my thinking during the 12/12/12 benefit show. Who since 2000 is considered part of the Rock Royalty club? The only "newer" acts were Kanye and Chris Martin. God help us all.

Surprised that no one has mentioned John Graboff, who played with Ryan Adams during the Cardinal years.

Also, Nathan Pitts from the Bear and Doc Dailey's band could pull double duty on pedal and 6string.

Always loved that Jason sang from the POV of a Lawson, knowing that he has Hill blood running through his veins. Not for sure if there is any relation, but I would be surprised if there weren't any ties to the parties involved.

I remember when this was released as part of the "Let There Be Rocktober" web promo in 05 or 06. The pedal steel wasn't on the track then, so now it sounds out of place to me.

It was a pleasure hanging with Lurleen and the Cowboy last night. Third time I've seen Doc Dailey. Really impressed at how much better this band gets with time. For me, Little Bonnie was the highlight of the show. Papa Hood's bassline really made the song move. Here's a few pics I snapped during the...

You have to go to Dreamland in Tuscaloosa. Just a requirement anytime you're in town.

I always go to Jim & Nicks while in Birmingham. Several locations around town.

The title track sounds like the Gaslight Anthem, which is a good thing in my opinion. Oh my God, no . The Gaslight Anthem sounds just like Bruce Springsteen. That IS their sound. Bruce. My point exactly. I wasn't thrilled with the last few Springsteen records, but if he can be inspired by younger b...

Re: Feature of the Week (2/20/12) Johnny Marr

Marr scored The Big Bang. Depending on your tastes, it may be a great bad movie, or just overall terrible. But the cast alone (Sam Elliot! Autumn Reeser! Van Der Beek!) makes it a must watch. http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTgzNjI1MTQyMF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwODgyNDk3NA@@._V1._SY317_.jpg
