Re: Patterson's Comments on Two New Albums Thread

Thanks for this, Patterson! Look, I'd been waiting for a new Springsteen record for like 5 years, and then it came and it was a masterwork. One of the best things about following you on the American Band tour (more intermittently for me this year, due to my very expensive honeymoon) was watching you...

Looking forward to seeing a show in my home state! Woo hoo! A friend of mine has an extra for Hartford that she is willing to give away for free. It is in a handicapped accessible section. If anyone is in need, please send me a pm and I'll get you in touch with her. I grabbed it! And now my friend ...

I know it's a newer one, but once "Natural Light" faded out of the setlists, it stayed out. I miss it so much!

Re: American Band- 9/30/16

"Filthy and Fried" and "Ever South" were my favorites out of the box and are likely going to remain that way, but there's nothing at all bad and most of these are top notch songs that can compare favorably with the rest of the catalog. However, a song I didn't love at first, "Sun Don't Shine," has s...

Booked my room a few weeks ago based on Patterson's probably. SO GLAD I DID. And Trae Crowder! WOW!

PS this will be the first time since they switched to February that I can go to all 3 nights. I am THRILLED.

Of all these awesome, intense, meaningful songs, how come it is that "Filthy and Fried" is the one that's hitting me the hardest? And why is "Ever South" #2? I'm not southern! THIS ALBUM IS TOO MUCH GUYS.

Of all the songs, "Filthy & Fried" was the one that brings the tears to my eyes. I need to get deeper. Wow, really? Guns Of Umpqua is the tear jerker for me. I can't listen to it around people really, if I do I try to take my mind elsewhere because if I listen too close I will get glassy eyed. Yeah...

I know this is said about every album, but wouldn't it be nice if this were their "breakthrough" record in terms of reaching a wider audience? Given the unique political, social, and economic position we find ourselves in, and having the best lineup and best chemistry ever, they could be the right ...

"Kinky Hypocrite" sounds more Cooley than Hood, but I'm ready to believe different. I try not to listen to live tracks until the studio version's out (unless I'm there), so this only the second time I've heard "Surrender Under Protest." Well, it's been an hour, so it's the 12th time.

Re: New songs thread

I wonder if the record after this new one will have some Gonzalez and/or Patton compositions on it? I was thinking it was about time for those two to break out some songs, and I'd be very interested in hearing them. Or maybe play them at the Rock Shows if they don't make the cut for the album. I've...

Unsure why "Girls Who Smoke" is my jam. I mean, it's DBT going kind of New Wave and it's a little weird and fun and I LOVE IT. Almost as much as "Women Without Whiskey," which, yes, I cried at (again). I explained last night: "I don't get it. I don't really drink much and I'm not into ladies, but t...
