True.

Since bullet ran the operation
Who's "bullet"? Harlan Carter? Someone else? A metaphor for the border patrol?
A relative of "grabby" perhaps?

Re: American Band- 9/30/16

I love American Band. I'm not sure where it ranks, and while it's probably not their best, it's the one where I'm most proud of them. I was over the moon about English Oceans, mainly because of the AMOUNT (and also quality) of Cooley compositions. He's arguably more brilliant than ever on this recor...

Apologies if this has been posted, but I hadn't seen it. It's the Associated Press. Re: NYC on March 20

Yeah, this is pretty much every show I see, everywhere. Not that I disagree with your sentiments, joelle and Zip. It's interesting that you're starting to see more artists with a no phones/cameras policy, but that's a tough thing to pull off. Yes what he said. This isn't tied to the Truckers or NYC...

Re: Old Assholes

I don't see this comment or the one from last year in a political light at all. I just think it's bad form. Maybe as I get older, I'm more inclined to prefer the high road. I just see no point in getting into this territory, whether it's a blog, interview, whatever. Maybe it's just karma, as Ted ha...

Re: Old Assholes

I love this. And it isn't an interview, it's an op-ed. More like a blog post, really. The band is contributing different pieces to the magazine throughout the week. It's great to see Cooley opening up upon this album's release. I'd read a book he wrote on nearly any subject, and would love him to on...

Re: English Oceans Reviews

I'm really surprised that the A.V. Club, which was the debut site for the "Part of Him" acoustic video a few weeks ago (as one of their news items), hasn't reviewed English Oceans. They've reviewed every other DBT album and the last two Patterson solo albums and generally don't give short ...

Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread

The list of artists putting out this kind of quality album 15+ years after their first record is very short and mostly limited to Mount Rushmore of Rock types like Dylan and Neil. Cooley is clearly inspired with a new set of kick-ass songs. Patterson is clearly inspired by Cooley. The whole band is ...

Re: English Oceans Reviews

I feel like I've read most if not all of the reviews posted of the album, and of all the songs to barely get mentioned, there seems not to be a lot of ink for Primer Coat. I'm not saying it is the best song (although some days it is), but it certainly has a case for most appealing, especially to rev...

well Jason gave EO a shoutout on twitter.. it got 68 replies in an hour.. i think thats pretty good any twitter experts? You probably mean retweets, not replies. Meanwhile, Hyden's old place, the A.V. Club, did NOT review the album today. Maybe tomorrow? Although I think they only post music reviews on Tuesdays... so... next week? Either way, that's a terrible job by them.

They picked the right songs for the proper album. But this would make a fine start for a DBT comedy record.
