Re: Heathens Homecoming 2024
I think it is mathematically or spatially impossible for us to occupy the exact same ground 72 or 96 hours a year but not meet (I think we did meet briefly years ago when the hangout was at that bar, not cine but I don't recall meeting you since). Maybe next year. Yeah, that is weird lol. There wer...

Re: Heathens Homecoming 2024
I've haven't done one of these in awhile so here it is. This year was our 12th trip to Athens for Heathen's Homecoming and it was one of my favorite years. It's really difficult to rank or compare one year to another, but after HHC2020 I've compared the past few to it. And HHC2024 was at least as go...

Re: HeAthens Homecoming 3/29-4/1 2023
My wife and I attended our 11th Homecoming this year and I've got to say it was one of my favorites that we've ever attended, though every single Homecoming has been its own kind of fun. Friday/Saturday were otherworldly and probably fall somewhere in my top 10 DBT shows we've seen, especially Frida...

Re: HeAthens Homecoming 3/29-4/1 2023
PS If your Air BnB decision was price related, have you and others here noticed a big increase in AirBnB prices generally over, say, the past 6 or 8 months? We have. We're back in an AirBnB this year. This is 11 for us and I think we've stayed in an AirBnB 6 of those years. We're staying in Univers...

Re: HeAthens Homecoming 3/29-4/1 2023
Tracy and I are in again this year for all 4 nights. This will be our 11th consecutive Homecoming, and we've seen almost as many DBT shows at the 40 Watt as we've seen all other DBT shows combined lol. As long as we actually make all the shows this year we'll have seen DBT 29 times at the 40 Watt an...

I enjoyed the book even though I disagreed with a few points the author makes and questioned a few others. I'd have been even happier with a book that was twice as long.

Re: 2020 Tour Dates! THERE ARE SO MANY
Hoping things will get mixed up a bit more when they come back in the summer/fall Agree on this point. I'm not backing off of any shows or anything but lately the sets have been more static lately than I can remember in the 10 years I've been following the band. It wouldn't hurt to rotate a few war...

I think it's impressive that DBT regularly play songs from each and every one of their albums. Very few bands manage that. And if you were at Homecoming you got at least 1 song from every album they've released.

Yeah, Cooley played too many repeats (and honestly more than he usually does over a 2-3 night run) but what are you gonna do? I complained a little before Saturday night's show but in the end I had a blast and Cooley is gonna do what Cooley is gonna do.

Is it just me, or are Cooley’s vocals on his two songs kind of muddled? Almost seem clearer in the live recordings I’ve heard of both songs. Love both songs, just interested in why the mixing sounds like it does. Patterson addressed this on the super secret 3DD Facebook group. Short version, Cooley...

Slow Ride Argument is going to be a beast in the Rock Show. It already is. Of all the new tunes I've seen live, Slow Ride Argument has made the easiest transition to the Rock Show. It's badass, especially when the lights go out during the opening pause right before the lyrics start. I haven't heard...

I honestly didn't think much of it when I heard it live at the Orange Peel several year ago, and then he stopped playing it. It's the biggest surprise on the album for me, just a killer track.Tyler wrote:The song that's blown me away is Heroin Again. Almost sounds like a lost Tom Petty song musically.

Kinda don't know how to feel about that song. It's all the things it should be (pissed off, visceral, topical, etc.)....but is it....good? Is it even important if it is? There's a lot to digest here I feel like I'm in the very small DBT fan minority that supports the stance and the politics but is ...

I understand that it sold out fast. I said hours, one says 38 minutes, one says 47 minutes........ whatever If you got on at 10 you could buy your tickets in 5 minutes and have enough time for an episode of the Andy Griffith Show before they sold out. Toying with idea of visiting my parents when the boys play the Orange Peel. Will these shows sell out quickly? It’s will call only, and while eating $60 bucks won’t kill me, at this point I would still rather not spend it on tickets I may not use. So if I wait a while, do y’all think I can still ge...

I saw this premeried at the Orange Peel in 2017. It was dropped from the set shortly after. I'm a little surprised this made the record. I assumed it was one of those songs that wouldn't be recorded or would end up on a solo album.uncle rickey wrote: 6. Heroin Again
