Re: uncle tupelo today
Another question would be whether or not Jay and Jeff would have ever started a band together in today's music scene. Given the popularity of experimental-pop music today maybe Jeff would have seen the type of music he eventually wanted to make (i.e., Wilco) right away and gone that direction while ...

Re: Music Blasphemy
Two of the biggest throwaway statements by music fans: Ok, I'll bite and address both. 1) "I don't like genre xx, it is too repetitive"a all music is equally repetitive..rock, rap, hip-hop, country, etc. If you like it you want to hear the same thing over and over. If you don't like it th...

Re: Music Blasphemy
2) "You would like them more if you saw them live." I have heard this about 100 different bands. When the band plays music you like it will generally make for a good concert not the other way around. Wrong. Examples: I have had friends I tried to get into DBT, they didn't like them, final...

Re: SPIN's Top 125 of the past 25 years
I have and like about 60 of those so I guess its a OK list (as someone pointed out all these lists suck in one way or another). Completely agree with that Neil, Bob, Bruce and DBT (of course) are major omissions. Given they skipped DBT its also not surprising they missed Stranger's Almanac, Trace, W...

Big fan here too. Liked "Emotionalism" a lot when I first heard it but "I and Love and You" put them over the top for me...one of the best albums of 2009 and the title track is my favorite song from last year.
