Re: 9:30 Club Shows - Feb. 28-29, 2020

Nice recap, bubs. It was my first show with earplugs so I didn't quite catch the sound issues, as it was all compromised, but I had a blast. Really liked the sound of Armageddon live. Was hoping for Uncle Frank since it wasn't played Friday but so it goes. I'd trade one Uncle Frank for Shut Up and ...

Re: 9:30 Club Shows - Feb. 28-29, 2020

So now we know what it would sound like if the Ramones came back as a DBT cover band with, oh I don't know, maybe Eddie Hinton on vocals (oddly enough on a nite they didn't even play KKK). To paraphrase the Rhino box set, that was loud, fast but totally in control. Intense is the word I keep coming...

Re: Boulder Theater- Fri 10/5

Great show, solid two and a half hours non stop. I thought the the setlist was great, good amount of new and old. Thought it was odd though, right at about 11:30 many people cleared out, made more room for us but was just a little surprised that people didn't stay until the end. I think what we wit...

Re: Incredibly sad after tonight's show....

Didn't one of them effectively say good riddance to Trump supporters on CBS or one of the promo appearances? Like there is nothing to discuss; if you support him we don't really want you at our shows? Did that happen or am I imagining that? gerg!! Great to see you! Stick around why dontcha? Yes, Ho...

Re: Are DBT tickets too cheap?

I actually had a conversation once with a member of DBT's crew regarding ticket prices. He said they are priced lower to encourage more of the casual fans to come out, the people who might make the decision to attend within a few days of the show. This works out especially well in college towns. I ...

I suspect that it's not the material, but that it's that it's new. Most of the people there probably haven't bothered to absorb the new record to the extent that the songs have really taken hold in them yet.

Re: Patterson Hood on WTF with Marc Maron

Also, I would recommend his Artie Lang interview which was pretty insane, and his Booker T interview. Both should still be available for free on his app. You have to pay for his premium service to get the old stuff. His interview with Bryan Cranston a few years ago was aces. Yep. The Craig Ferguson...

Dragging a bit today and trying to motivate myself to exercise by withholding the Patterson interview until I get on the bike. It's not working yet. Maybe after some Chinese food.

What a night, almost 3 hours of RAWK! My highlight was when Patterson called out the dick in the front: "Hey Mother F*cker, I've been watchin' you and you've been acting like a douche bag all night. GET THE F*CK OUT!!! Oh yeah, Blitzen Trapper was pretty good, too! That rules. Was the guy thro...

Huge Maron fan. The suggestion that he is "over his head" because he's not well-versed in southern rock is absurd. The guy has done 500+ interviews and has a stand-up and TV career of his own. It's possible he might not be completely studied in the repertoire of <insert your favorite musi...

"Phony & totally Nixonian" in Washington D.C. is so perfect it hurts. Although phony and Clintonian would work just as well . Perhaps for another forum... Very good show, though I'm miffed as to why dbt sound was like the opening act in an arena while blitzen trapper sound was suited ...

I'm surprised this is even being debated. Isbell in a landslide. If you never saw him in the band or have never listened back to the recordings, one need look no further than the opening credits to Secret to a Happy Ending and his intro to Zip City. This is a great band that has had great lineups th...

Re: Cooley 6-22-13. Chapel Hill. Local 506

I wondered if he wouldn't come out of solo acoustic touring hating the "crowd" a bit. A hard-drinking crowd doesn't really mix with solo acoustic at all. The percentage of people who drink who don't do quiet well is high.
