Re: Anyone else kinda pissed at Brent Best?
As I recall, he had a record done, that he was not happy with, so he ditched it. Then, he had one near complete, and his computer fried. No updates since

Re: Speaking in Lyrics
I often think about that summer
The sweat, the moonlight, and the lace
And I have rarely held another
When I haven't seen her face
And every time I pass a wheat field
And watch it dancing with the wind
Although I know it isn't real
I just can't help but feel
Her hungry arms again
The sweat, the moonlight, and the lace
And I have rarely held another
When I haven't seen her face
And every time I pass a wheat field
And watch it dancing with the wind
Although I know it isn't real
I just can't help but feel

Re: The Glossary Thread
We got two great shows this weekend. Asses were shaken. Souls were stirred. And I hear tell they are trying to get on the bill for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass this year, but it's not a done deal. Only time will tell (see what I did there?). What a great band. What lovely people. I saw what you did

Re: Is It Possible To Love a Band TOO Much?
Much of my listening is a series of mini-obsessions. I get really into a band or an album and that's all I listen to for weeks or months. Ok, maybe not ALL, nearly so. And then I get a little burned out on it and have to step back for awhile. I don't think it's the best way to listen, but when I'm ...

Re: Artist of the Week: Chris Knight 12/17/12
Awesome review. Thanks for doing it. I had thought about doing one on Chris a while back, but yours definitely is better than anything I couldve came up with.
Chris Knight is by far the easiest artist I know of to relate to and far too unknown

Re: Albums of the year
I need to revisit the Chuck Prophet record. It didn't click with me when I first listened. That's kind of how I am with him though, I enjoy his stuff but it doesn't take root at all. enjoyable but not memorable. I also need to spend some time with the Chris Knight record. The Chris Knight album is ...

Re: Albums of the year
I had the same problem with JTE's new album. First listen was hard. Then as songs popped up on shuffle, I began to realize I liked a lot of them. I think it's simply the order of new songs that plays a big part of how we portray a new album

Did you hear the '59 Sound coming through on Grandmama's radio?
Did you hear the rattling chains in the hospital walls?
Did you hear the old gospel choir when they came to carry you over?
Did you hear your favorite song one last time?

There comes a time when nothing seems clear
You're passed out on the front porch with a head full of beer,
Confused and clouded by thoughts of you dear
But I won't be thinking for long
