Re: "From the Byrds to the Eagles" - BBC Documentary

Finally got around to watching this last night. In lieu of popcorn, I recommend multiple fingers of your favorite whiskey. Great stuff and I came away thinking I just don't listen to enough James Taylor anymore. I gotta fix that.

they've picked up a third cow?

Confused the album with the band. Another way to look at it - if I liked them, as opposed to wishing I did, then maybe I would get the name right. Thanks for the semi-cleverly hidden pedantic correction Tequila Cowboy.

Re: Bands you wish you liked but don't

I guess I like what I like and I don't wish to like what I really don't. I'll take a different approach. The following bands I've been told I'd love, but I really don't care for. Bloodkin Slobberbone Three Cow Garage The White Stripes My Morning Jacket The Gourds Arcade Fire Mumford Sons Bright Eyes...

Re: Go Go Boots at the Six Month Mark

GGB wouldn't be the 1st album I'd recommend to the unconverted. Actually I have been recommending it to people that I've had a hard time getting into DBT before, with some success. The element of soul is more pronounced and if certain folks have a hankerin' for that kind of thing this might be a ga...

Re: Go Go Boots at the Six Month Mark

GGB wouldn't be the 1st album I'd recommend to the unconverted. However, it is a fine record in its own right. "Used To Be a Cop" just might be the song of the year.

Re: This alt.country thing

Poked through the thread. This alt-country business is pretty elusive. I sure don't know what it means and after reading through this thread, I still don't. However, I do enjoy most of the bands and artists discussed. So, without even knowing, I'm a fan of alt-country (whatever that is).
