Re: James McMurtry Thread

My copy of this album was delivered yesterday. Threw it on the turntable last night, cracked a few beers and WOW!
It is an incredible album. Big fan of James. He is a true storyteller. Very impressed.

Re: Patterson's Comments on Two New Albums Thread

His point about Ohio is completely valid. I don’t think the promoters do a good job of selling DBT shows, especially compared to other bands at the same venues. It’s a double whammy if mediocre promotion and a fickle music scene. I’m often annoyed at the generally low enthusiasm level I see at most...

Re: setlist database

This is fantastic!
Thanks so much for getting this back online.
It's fun to look back at some of the shows and remember (or try to anyway) how much fun each show was.
Much appreciated.

Re: MLB 2017

I cannot agree more with bubba's comments about the Sox - Indians game last night. As a long time Cleveland fan, I almost threw my dinner plate through the TV after the walk off. Austin Jackson's catch was awesome and although the Sox pulled it out in the end (and I have to hear about it from the fi...

Unbelievable! What an amazing day. From the acoustic set hearing Spooner sing I'm Your Puppet to People Who Died to close the Rock Show. I'm speechless. Wow!!! Thank You DBT.

Re: Cleveland, OH. 7/22

So who is in for Saturday at the Rock Hall? We will be heading down around 2:00 to catch the acoustic set with Patterson and Spooner. Looks like it will be an all-day event. Trying to get a few more details as to set times from an acquaintance that works at the Hall. If I can get more details regard...

Re: Venues You've Seen DBT

Cleveland - Beachland Ballroom (2 or 3 times) - Beachland Tavern (This was the impromptu show when Tom Petty Cancelled. Epic Night. The Old 97s played the Ballroom that night and DBT went on in the much smaller Tavern after the 97s show. The Tavern only holds around 100 people and the place was pack...

Re: Cleveland, OH. 7/22

I knew it was a long time, but didn't realize it was THAT long until I was looking though previous tour dates. I guess it makes sense because the last two times I attended a Rock Show, we made the trip to Columbus to see them. I am assuming they will be playing the Plaza outside the Rock Hall. They ...

For anyone that is attending this show, there is a DJ in the Tavern starting at 6:30. It is free with your ticket to the show and they usually spin some old vinyl along with some newer music. It's cool to hang out and grab a few beers and perhaps a bite to eat prior to the Rock Show. Looking forward...

I will be there as well. Last time DBT played there was the night the Tom Petty show in Cleveland got canceled and Cindy, the owner, offered to let them play the small room that only holds around 120 people. The Old 97s played in the larger room that night and DBT came on after their set was over ar...

Sorry for the delayed response, but I got my shirt on Monday (just in time to sport it on "Super Tuesday" here in Ohio). Let me tell you, I got a kick out of wearing the shirt to the cafe when I went to dinner with my dad and watching all the old coots try to figure out who Hood and Cooley...

This show is rolling into Cleveland tonight. I don't know much about Ryan Adams, but was thinking about checking it out, as Jason always puts on a great show. Anyone know how long of a set Jason has been playing as the opener?

Damn! Damn! Damn! I've been assuming this would be their first Buffalo show, but I checked the old tour dates and they were here in 2003 (at tiny little Mohawk Place!) and did a free show in the middle of downtown in 2006! I have GOT to pay more attention to what's going on. A group of us drove out...

Trying to juggle things at work to drive out from Cleveland. About 50/50 right now, but it's been a long time between Rock Shows and I'm ready. We'll see what happens. If it turns into an "Evening with DBT" and no opener, that may tip the scales.

Nice little write-up at Cleveland Scene

One additional note from the show on Tuesday: I learned that DBT fans (or newer DBT fans) have real difficulty clapping along with songs.

Also - there was a taper there, so hopefully this show gets posted some time soon.

Yeah, they played Road Cases. I am certain, as this was the first DBT show that I remained sober for (having job responsibilities sucks). It was the second show in a row that I heard it, as they played it when they opened for Petty at Blossom in August.
