Re: Patterson Hood solo- Denver, CO 12/13, 12/14

I went Sat. night as the creepy middle-aged dude by himself and had myself a damn fine time. Highlight for me was Opening Act/Tornadoes closers. Something about "And I reached over and changed the station" that always gets me. And I bet I am in the minority when I say, Tornadoes is one of ...

Re: Artist Of The Week - 1 April 2013 - Pearl Jam

In the fall of 1991, a new friend at UMass dragged me to see this band I had never heard of in the student union ballroom for $5 bucks. A short time later "Ten" blew up. The passion and ferocity that Pearl Jam played with that night is the same passion and ferocity they play with today. Ha...

I'll be there for both shows...my pregnant wife will hopefully last awhile on Sat. night...but if not I''ve got the Sunday show to fall back on...maybe I'll meet some of y'all. Lookin' forward to it.

Re: Artist of the Week: Buffalo Tom 12-10-2012

I sent Bill the link earlier today and was very gracious with his reply. Pretty cool for him to post it too. And he also informed me that while "Larry" is indeed a song named after his cat, and that while he would also sometimes intro the song by saying it was about his cat, in reality it ...

Re: Newbies--Introduce yourselves

Have lurked here for awhile, now just finally getting around to posting (my most recent post was a lengthy ode to Buffalo Tom for the AOTW series) a little bit. Became a fan around TDS and have been hooked ever since. Whenever they are in CO (my home now) I will be there. Same thing with Isbell and ...

Artist of the Week: Buffalo Tom 12-10-2012

First let me preface this by saying I know it is very long-winded and self-indulgent (it has footnotes!), but I love to write and given this opportunity I thought I should take the ball and run with it. Plus I haven’t felt like writing anything in quite some time. I work in banking now so I can't re...

Re: Artist of the week-Dec 3,2012- AC/DC

Speaking of AC/DC covers, Mark Kozelek (from Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon) did some great folk versions that are on a couple of albums:

Like a lot of Kozelek's stuff, you either love it or hate it. 88% of the time I find myself in the love it category, including this time.

Re: Any Widespread Panic fans on here? >>>>

Like many I was more of a fan when Mikey was still alive, but am definitely still a fan. I live in Colorado and a WSP show at RR has become a rite of summer for an old friend and I. He flies in for a show or two and then flies back to his hectic life in NYC. I've only seen them live 10-15 times, but...

Re: Recent Purchases

Happy to say I just picked up Buffalo Tom's Skins. They were my DBT before there was a DBT in that I would go above and beyond to see them whenever possible. I will argue with anyone that Let Me Come Over is the best album of the 90's. They should've been so much bigger, but had to settle for being ...

Re: Who should open for DBT next tour?

Very excited to see The Heartless Bastards here in Denver. They haven't disappointed me yet...quite a voice on that singer.

Other ideas:

Dawes
Deer Tick
Roadside Graves
Delta Flyers
Only Children (if they are still alive)
Joe Pug
Hill Country Revue
